I remember some Brazilian player trying to pull off some fancy stepovers against Lilian Thuram. Didn't work out so well. The guy is one of the best defenders on the planet, he's not going to be mesmerized by your moves because you're wearing a blue and yellow jersey.

 

The late 90's-early 2000's Brazil were fantastic, they just happened to come up against a France side with the best generation of players they ever had. Shit happens.
