  1. Roll With The Punches

Roll With The Punches WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

album by the band entitled 'Live'. Nothing to do with albums that are played live, so only an illiterate homosexual would misread the thread title

  6. Just two random words (one totally made-up)

I just love so many of those songs

That's a fun one... as nasty as they ever sounded... great version of Midnight Rambler

Worth hearing as a document to their great playing but the sound quality is poor, they deserved better

The other thing is it was a mistake to include all that absurd Rick Wakeman garbage

  11. Two awful live albums:

There's a few bits I like ("All The Young Dudes" is superb) but I find this record kind of boring ... feels like he was mailing it in, which makes sense as this was a real transition period

The cool thing about that Bowie record is I bought it in high school on vinyl from Rykodisc and the record looked like this:

Picture doesn't do it justice... it looked very cool ... translucent

    Here's a terrible live album

In 1972, this probably would've been amazing... in 1987, it was an outrage... Dylan already sounds like horseshit and sleepwalks through these tunes ... Garcia sounds like exactly what he was (an exhausted obese heroin fiend about to lapse into a coma) and the rest follow their plodding lead... this was not suitable for release, just a cynical cash grab

  17. I don't like the way everything he ever released is now revered as 'genius' because he's dead.

  18. Like the opening 60 second cacophony of 'A-1 Funk' or Micheal Shrieve's drum solo (fucking amazing drummer btw)

  19. Went through a phases of buying Dick's Picks sets - got about 6 triple/quadruple live albums from 1968-78 then just thought "I'll never get through all these"

Right and I'm a big fan

Hunky Dory, Station to Station and the Berlin Trilogy are all absolutely great to me but the rest even in the 70s is hit and miss

The 80s onward is mostly bad

  22. Agreed except 'Lodger' - didn't like.
You don't like Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans...
