Genuinely impressed with how our guys played and it's been ages since I've said that about a European match of any import ... maybe it's because I wasn't watching live so I was more relaxed but I thought we looked better than we have in a long time in a European match

How does the pricing differ in most venues, for home, away and neutral? (or whatever they call it)

I can't honestly say..........I do know that Stub Hub said they won't sell tickets to "Away" fans in the "Home" section........just how they know who is who is beyond me.

Tickets for Salzburg at Anfield are pushing $200. You throw in accommodation in Liverpool and transport and a trip to see Liverpool might set me back $400. I know for a fact that kids get in a lot cheaper. It's ironic.......that's the sort of money that's being asked for a trip to Wembley to see the Chicago Bears this October. In fact I could go and see the Bears and get home for around £200stg.

So obviously there are ways to do it. I know a Season Ticket gets you in, with no extras, and the downside of that is that even if your club doesn't qualify, you still pay the same for a season ticket.

Maybe that's more of a security thing? Not wanting opposing fans in the same section, antagonism, fights etc. To answer how they know, they probably can't most of the time.

On this side of the pond there is no such thing as home/away sections. (not sure if this is different in MLS)

I have seen cases where they've tried to prevent away fans from getting tickets here. One way they did it was to decline credit card payments originating from Canada at NHL playoff games when the games were being played in the U.S.

In North America there's no need to segregate fans at all. Yes incidents can happen here and there but it's very isolated. The vast majority of the times if a fight breaks out it has nothing to do with allegiances. Just hotheads, drunks or a bad mixture of the two.

There is no such thing as a ticket allocation for an away team. One hundred, two hundred, two thousand or whatever fans are simply not travelling regularly to follow their team. In part it's geography and some other factors but sports fans here aren't THAT passionate. Certainly not in the numbers they are in Europe at least.

If you want to buy a ticket you just call up the ticket office, go online or whatever. It's no different than purchasing a ticket to see a music event.

Technically, there is nothing to stop you being an away fan in the home section. But obvious signalling would get you slung out fairly fast, especially if there were numbers involved. The Stewards, most of whom are even worse than the fans, would step in fairly quick if you were flaunting opposition colours. Sometimes you will see an Everton mate with his Liverpool mate at a game, but it's always very localized and patchy. If you are trying to form a caucus apart from but in the midst of the main body.......you will get slung out. Nobody likes a wind up merchant.

Here it's localized and patchy as well, but that's because it's simply the tickets which were available. You might see a dozen or more fans wearing jerseys from the away team but they can be spread from the front row to the nosebleeds. They could also have the same astrological sign but it's incidental as they don't know each other.

If a group wanted to fill out a section they would have to plan it well in advance and get lucky enough to purchase the tickets available. That's not likely.

There is no concept of ultras here. If somebody is deemed as being obnoxious it wouldn't matter if they are rooting for the home side. There will the same amount of people that will tell them to sit down and shut up. It's a more family oriented affair. Crowds get raucous here too, it's not the ballet but you can't really compare it to a football match in Europe.

We didn't have many major issues until Tony Fernandes became owner, nothing against Fernandes who is a good guy who knows the club and invested his own money, he gets English football. The problem is he is a massive name in Malaysia, we had a deluge of Malaysian fans turning up at Loftus Road because of Fernandes alone, who didn't understand any of the nuances of English football. One cunt turned up in a Chelsea top with a ticket for the South Africa Road stand (home end), the police thankfully stopped him before he stepped foot on the stand but many of the fans had seen him and were ready to tear him apart. It's dumb in a lot of ways, don't get me wrong, but it's that passion which in a lot of ways makes it stand out, you don't really get it in many other sports or in other countries.

Seriously though, you could see some prick on a holiday wearing the wrong shirt in the wrong stand because they haven't done their homework and getting beat senseless as a result.

Yeah that's fucked. If somebody is deliberately being antagonistic, knows the risk and does it anyway I don't have a lot of sympathy. Should they get beaten senseless? No, but if they get slapped up a bit it's a good lesson I think in my mind. Being a regular guy not bothering anybody and treated like you're a member of a rival gang in a turf war because of a shirt? Nobody should have to "research" that.

Jùst looked really assured and relaxed in the main. Not a single period where we were under the cosh until injury forced us to stick johnny hayes at left back with 15m to go, and even then we handled the pressure comfortably. Really encouraging. Everyone just looked like they believed. As The Lennon said, we went there are had a much easier time of it time than PSG did a couple weeks back who by all accounts took a bit of a tonking

As an aside, there arent many players who improve so markedly in their mid 20s as jamie forest has over the last few years, his decision making and composure have become total top dolla.

Very right about Forrest... for a long time he looked like a fleet, enthusiastic footballer who didn't know why he was going somewhere or what to do when he got there... now there's a method and purpose

Utterly bizarre and unrealistic for football at this level.

I think it was the first time in Premier League history that a team scored 5 goals after only 18 minutes. Seriously, it was attack, after attack, after attack. I expect the likes of Aguero and De Bruyne to be subbed at half-time.

In 2015 he was a one footed line hugger with mediocre crossing ability- suddenly he's a two footed menace drifting all over the right-most two thirds of the opponents half, making runs, slipping in crafty through balls, finishing opportunities like a jaguar. We had an 80s IBM now we've got a slinky wee ebook. Still runs like he's left his clothes hanger in his shirt, mind

8-0 it finishes. Citeh move to within two points of Liverpool but their goal difference is now +18 compared to Liverpool's +11.

City's attacking prowess is so potent it is basically impossible to ever beat their goal difference over a full league campaign. Points is the only way.

I think I called it. He will. He'll get a few big results here and there but he's a gonner.

They got Liverpool in 2 or 3 games. Lose that and he's finished.

Spent £100m+ this Summer. No excuses.

10 points behind Liverpool after 6 games. Unheard of.
