Pcaman spence just got a lot more interesting. Tought it would have been a blowout before, but now i lean toward pacman
The thing that makes Spence a good fighter is that for such a strong, sturdy, heavy handed guy he isn’t slow, he’s got good coordination and hes got efficient technique. The problem is that on the elite level he’s just not very agile defensively or very explosive offensively. When he tucks begins his gloves he catches punches well but he can’t get his head off the line. When he opens up his guard and starts rolling his shoulders and bending his knees and waist you can tell he knows what he’s doing and he sees the punches but he’s just slow and cumbersome. Porter leaves plenty of openings but Spence didn’t have the reflexes to pull the trigger and he was out of position half the time because he defensive movements are so slow he can’t get back into punching position.
Which You NEVER Predicted. This is Perhaps THE Most Inappropriate “Called It” Claim In Fightbeat History Bruh... REED
Manny Won’t Take That Fight Or a Porter Bout Either, After Last Night... And REED Won’t Hold it Against Manny at All. He Signed w/PBC in Hopes of a RE w/Floyd and a Bout or 3 w/Some of Haymon’s Less Threatening Welters In the Meantime. REED Fully Expects Manny vs Mikey Next, Knowing What We Know Now... REED
Well, I said that Porter would have succes, but the turning point of the fight would be him walking into a big punch. And this is what happened. I don't know why you insist on being pedantic
Not so sure about that. Pacquiao must be confident of his chance right now. He beat Thurman (who beat Porter) much more easily than Spence beat Porter. Yeah, boxing isn't algebra, and Thurman might have been damaged good, but I think Pacquiao would take the fight if the cash is right
And You ALSO Said... Spence dominate the latter part and either gets a late KO or a dominant decision On 1 Hand, You're Wanting Credit for "Calling" Something 7/8th's of Fightbeat Predicted...Porter Getting Clipped was an Inevitability Bruh...On the Other Hand, You're Making a Brook-Porter "Levels" Comparison for Some Reason, Even After PREDICTING Spence Would Dominate Porter... And, to Top it All Off, Now You're "Leaning" Towards Pacman... REED Ain't Being the LEAST Bit Pedantic, YOU'RE Attempting to Burn the Candle from Both Ends, Praising YOURSELF for "Calling It", While Diminishing the Guy YOU Expected to "Dominate the Latter Part" and Get a "Late KO or Dominant Decision"... If You "Called It", There'd Be No Reason to 2nd Guess Spence the Way You Are, Based on YOUR OWN Prediction... REED
It's the BEST Division in Boxing Irish...Pac is There Because he Can STILL Fight, In Case You Missed His Last Bout... REED
I've said later that I didn't totally called it, cause I was expecting Spence to win more empathically. Still, I'm one of the few who gave Porter a chance and said it would be competitive I don't get your Pacman point. The Porter fight, coupled with the Brook fight, probably showed that Spence is not as good as some (me included) thought he was. Picking pcquiao, is far from extravaguant
You're actually not wrong. Spence doesnt have that Floyd/Roy/Leonard/Whitaker athleticism and reflexes to go with his technique and coordination. Therein lies the problem he'll face against Crawford. The question of who wins is still up for debate though cause Crawford has never faced anyone on Spence's level.
Mikey would have to be a helluva lot sharper than he was against Spence to have a shot against Pac. He looked like a sloth in there. Pac has to be favored. I question Mikey's desire at this point. Like Thurman, I don't think he's 100% into the sport anymore. And like Thurman, I think he views Pac as a big payday.
Mikey might as well be a prime Joey Napoles in boxing skill compared to the likes of Thurman and Joltin Jeff Horn, which is why I'd pick him over a 40-year old Pac, assuming Spence didn't ruin him I'd actually favor Pac over the naturally bigger DANNY Garcia
Mikey has better skills than Thurman, but it don't change the fact that he looked slow and fat at 147. And Mikey is way better than Horn, but Horn is a bigger/stronger man. We'll see. Maybe it's Spence's range and size that gave him so many problems. He won't have to worry about that same height/size disparity against Pac, but he will have to deal with handspeed he's never seen before.
BULLSHIT Take and You Fucking Know It... Clearly, You're Projecting Your Latest Brand of Boxing Baggage, &/or a Grudge of Some Sort, But REED Doesn't Care Enough to Investigate Any Fucking Fuuuuuurther... REED
Mikey's Definitely an OPPORTUNIST @ This Point... He Basically GAVE His "0" to Spence...Mikey was Never Going to Beat Spence, but the Idea of Him Fighting Simply NOT to Get KOed, Just to Survive the Distance, Wasn't a Good Look @ All...Even for a Smaller Guy... In Hindsight, it Seems Spence Signaled the CASH-OUT Phase of Mikey's Career... The Pac that Fought Thurman Beats the Mikey that Fought Spence w/Out Much Fuss... Despite Mikey's Timing, There'll Be a CAVERNOUS Athletic Gap btwn Him and Pacquiao...Thurman's 1 of the MORE Athletic Current Welter's, yet Even HE Looked Like the 40year Old in Comparison to Manny... REED
Hardly. It's not a patch on the old days of 147 and I am not talking Hearns-Duran-Leonard. Porter is a try hard. Spence has a few skills. That's it. I'd don't pick either of them over any of Floyd-Shane-Oscar-Tito-Quartey. The quality simply isn't there.
I don't think Spence would be an easy fight for Oscar cause Oscar was shitty against southpaws. But admittedly, Oscar's handspeed and movement would give Spence a lot of problems. And of course, if Spence was reckless against Oscar he could get seriously hurt by the hook. I like Spence, but I'll be the first to admit that Trinidad would have knocked him out. Spence is too stationary for Tito. I also think prime Shane is too much for Spence. Shane would just be too fast for him, and his right hand would find Spence a lot, and hurt him.
Against Porter, Spence struck me as a guy who was happy to wait for the other guy to stop punching before he tried his own thing. Only when Porter got so slow that Spence could time him did he really land the big one. I thought it was a good fight and way closer than it maybe "should" have been..........but I just recalled, watching it, that neither of these guys were really "at it". And I am NOT somebody who comes on here crying "Thangs was so much better back in yore, feller". I always look for 1 fighter in any division who could have held his own against the BEST of any era and I rarely cannot find them. Spence/Porter might be the first time it's not a stretch to start making a case for the best 147lb fighter not just not having any chance.......but getting his arse kicked. Thurman is not a great fighter and he's injured..........the guy was hurt badly by the same guy that.........Amir Khan dominated.
