Nuh uh. At 26 million, real madrid were the 5th most profitable club in world football last year, man utd 3rd at 31 million, spurs 2nd at 37m. Zenit st. Petersburg were most profitable, no doubt due to some highly dodgy oil sponsorship. Go august to august to include the tierney sale and celtic would comfortably be top 5 this year, probably top 3. All those other clubs have massively higher revenues....but thats my whole point re:what it says about how the clubs run

    Good point.
Incidentally, does it say where Benfica are in the standings?

Benfica profit rockets 43% to €29.4M

I think it says a lot when Spurs are being represented on MOTD by one of their old players, Jermaine Jenas, and he comes out with a statement that the win over Southampton was a "Make a Statement" performance.

There has always been a soft-spot for Spurs in the press and its come to pass that the bullshit and the fandom have finally peaked right when the teams fortunes have plummeted.

Spurs overachieved last year and were on the verge of missing out on top 4. If Ajax had their wits about them they'd have put Spurs to the sword.

It's of pertinence from an England point of view........Kane, Alli and Rose and Dier are England regulars.

FC Spank drew with Dolmio of Italy so that asks a few questions..............why were Spank able to keep a clean sheet vs Dolmio but Liverpool couldn't. Are Salzburg really that good? I suppose 2 points dropped for Dolmio is good news for LFC but we shall see. I don't like these "Easy" groups.......they never are.

Liverpool have just blown a 3-0 lead. Made me a stack of cash. But this is bad shit.

Liverpool win. Just. But they got their work cut out in this group.

Looks like they need 3 wins, Napoli home and Genk home and away, to get out of this group.

But what's all this high-line bollox? Last year Liverpool took a lead and knew how to close it out.

3-0 up and it's back to 3-3 in about 20 minutes?

They were putting it in Spurs face that they could blow an even bigger lead and still come out victorious.

How the fuck have Salzburg scored 40 goals in 9 league games?? That's insane.

Basically it's Austria. In a word. Austria. I mean when one of your most famous sides is called Storm Graz........you know you are shit.

They've put together a great {attacking} side.........I was truly nervous about this game and I spent £15 on 3 bets, each for them to win or draw for Salzburg, at 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 and I cashed out and put a tenner on them to draw at 4-3.

I knew there were issues when they put 6 past Genk who then held Napoli scoreless earlier tonight. Once I saw that I felt Salzburg weren't this pushover.

Make no mistake Liverpool are in a battle here.

They've also conceded 6 goals in their first 2 CL games. So it's like Liverpool in 13-14 or 17-18.

Switzerland have better club sides like Young Boys, Basel, Grasshopper,....that's Switzerland.

Butterflies building - these nights never get old. I think if we get a result tonight we can get out this group & more than that it'll be really satisfying revenge for a result which should never, ever have happened. Get me out of here and ON MY WAY TO PARADISE :emoji_beers::emoji_beers::emoji_four_leaf_clover:

Aye Neil lennon was never a young boy he burst out the cold ground on a misty night like the alien from john hurt, fully formed ginger sneering, bulbous, k9s glinting in the moonlight, repeatedly blessing himself. A few locals witnessed it and told local papers but the editor left it out

Barring a very unlucky draw or an outsized contribution from bombscare Bolingoli, Sellik will make the semis this year. Personally, Ive already got one.

    Lazio are toast.

I'm pleased with how they've played but I'm not sure I'm ready to predict that kind of progression

And what a game he had. One assist and one almighty pressure-cooker penalty late late on.

Boring James Milner has Larger Private Parts Than Exciting Paul Pogba.
