Bigger video club chains, like Blockbuster, would acquire more copies of a highly anticipated box office hit...not for box office flops...like Spaceballs.

Just to give you an idea how much the interest has dropped on this film: the trailer for 'Star wars: the Last Jedi' had 120 million views in its first 24 hours. This one debuted last night and after 14 hours it has accumulated 6.3 million views. Lets say that in the next 10 hours it will double or triple that amount. It will still be extremely low from TLJ numbers. Heck, I doubt it will reach the 17 million views that awful DC 'Birds of Prey' trailer had!

George Lucas reacts to the Rise of Skywalker final trailer.

 

I have been waiting for more confirmations for the last three weeks before posting this, but per the multiple reports from different websites, youtube channels and people with informants at Lucasfilm, it is apparently true all the rumors circulating that 'Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker" production is in deep trouble. Reportedly the first cut shown was so bad that Bob Eiger panicked and ordered reshoots and heavy editing. The second version was slightly better, but still a mess. Bob Iger then begged George Lucas to come on board and try to save the film. Lucas reportedly suggested some drastic changes to what was already filmed and the film continued reshooting (and the budget is now over $300 million and counting). Previews tests screenings were held for the three different versions and apparently the J.J. Abram/Kathleen Kennedy cut was the most hated while the George Lucas reshoot was the better received...and even that one got only a 29% score from audiences. Reportedly the first half is incredibly bad, the middle much better and the climax laughable and totally disappointing. As of this writing they are still reshooting scenes and per one insider there are six different endings plus the atmosphere at Lucasfilm is of high tension, lots of shouting and people losing it.

The movie will be released in 45 days and apparently people at Disney still don't what they are doing.

*In the first cut most of the remaining original trilogy characters die: Chewbacca & Lando perish with the Millennium Falcon destroyed, C3PO gets his memory wiped out while translating some strange ancient language and short circuits.
*The 'Dark Side Rey' from the trailers was just a vision of the seduction of the Dark Side. Luke & Anakin appear as Force Ghosts at the climax to encourage Rey not to give up.
*Rey duels Kaylo Ren in that scene from the trailer and pushes him to the water and while drowning he realizes he loves Rey and his red lightsaber turns blue. Rey grabs his lightsaber and duels The Emperor with two lightsabers.
*Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter, but she fights him and kills him herself (probing to be more powerful than Luke, Vader and anyone else) and she literally kicks his ass...as like kicking the ass of the patriarchy?
*In the last scene someone asks Rey her name and she answers "Rey Skywalker"
*In the Lucas version a new character is introduced as a 'Skywalker'...maybe The Last Jedi's 'Broom Boy'?

The premiere of 'Rise of Skywalker' was last night and while there aren't any reviews yet (the embargo will be lifted tomorrow), the first reactions from those who watched it was mixed. The usual Disney cheerleaders in the Media loved it. The ones not on Disney's payroll didn't loved it. To me the most telling reaction was from John Campea, a well known Disney/Rian Johnson defender. He said that this film will please many people, but that unfortunately he wasn't one of those. OUCH!!! We have a traitor who has abandoned the Mouse ship!

Disney bended the knee and edited the 'historic same-sex kiss' from their prints in Dubai and other Muslim countries.

Meanwhile in the media comments sections, regular folks who were planning to watch the film, after finding out about the 'historic LGBTQ kiss', now are not going to watch the film.
