    Very nice

Lovely guitar playing, very tasteful mandolin work, a lyrical violin solo (focused on the instrument's lower register for a change) and good rhythm section... snare sound is a bit heavy for such a tune, but that's the producer' fault and it's not that bad... I like it very much ... evocative portrait of sadness but bittersweet (the happy birds, etc) and the music matches

    Like horrendous, right?
Lead-singer played the 'arsehole frontman' perfectly.

I remember he was on MTV performing at some festival or something and it started pouring rain and I was just begging for a lightning strike

    Bush
    Creed
    Staind
    Nickelback
(and numerous other shit one-word named bands who rode in on the end of early-90s Grunge: hard/heavy rock music for people who don't like any other type of hard/heavy rock music, e.g. owns 'Nevermind', 'Appetite For Destruction' and 'Metallica' (Black Album)...maybe a Foo Fighters or Red Hot Chilli Peppers compilation)

All fucking awful-sounding, boring, no character, pieces-of-dogshit-excuses for bands.

    Basically killed off rock music

Rock and Roll is totally meaningless to today's young people because to them it means bands like that and nobody wants to be associated with shit like that

Could be, but that 'classic rock' (horrible term) was (and is) always going to slowly die off anyway...

Talking of great music that cunts today wouldnt like or understand - Steely Dan.
You'll probably hate this type of question but:
    • Best album
    • Best song
    • Best guitar solo

    :Dont:

    • The Royal Scam
    • (this week?) Kid Charlamagne/Josie
    • (this week?) Chain Lightning/Night By Night
Remember earlier, I spoke about the types who like modern 'rock-pop' music? (Foo Fighters/RHCP/Muse/etc), I once loaned him Aja, The Royal Scam & Countdown To Ecstasy - nothing, not a clue, couldn't get into it whatsoever...and even worse, he was learning (and doing quite good) to play guitar - bought a proper Fender Telecaster and Fender 50wt Blues Amp-Combo...

And they're usually the people I've mentioned: easily-pleased arseholes with no or limited musical creed or knowledge or taste.

Chain Lightning... Rick Derringer said he was nervous as hell when he heard what they wanted him to play over ... knocked it out of the park! One of the classic Steely Dan solos

    I love all your choices

You seem to be confused as to a fundamental aspect of all art, which is that its beauty lies in the eyes of its beholder. You somehow get it when it comes to painting. But it escapes you when it comes to music.

The beholder who lacks any fundamental understanding lacks the capacity to appreciate beauty

    You're lazy
