More than half a million (and counting) fans have signed a petition demanding that HBO remakes the 8th season of GOT. Of course HBO is not going to do that, but HBO will feel their wrath next Monday when it loses thousands of subscribers who only were interested in the Westeros soap opera.

I really wish D&D had just passed it off to some other writers, or if they had a bigger group of writers, these past couple seasons. The struggles began in season 5 but increased season 7.

Just about everything in this show is done at a high level, except the writing. The Last of the Starks had so much bad writing and some of it affected the stories in the next episode. How does someone as smart as Varys suddenly decide to just tell the Hand of the Queen that he is planning to commit treason and get the Queen killed? He thought his friendship would save him? Jaime going back to Cersei makes more sense if you took out the Bronn scene where he learns that Cersei hired Bronn to kill Jaime and Tyrion.

The visuals, the music, acting, etc...was all really good. Some of it was amazing to watch.

I always thought Daenerys was a little crazy and violent but it was rushed to have her mowing down innocents for fun. I thought a more reasonable outcome was her ignoring the surrender, burning down the Red Keep to get Cersei, and all the innocent people hiding there would get killed. Or the structure would fall and inadvertently ignite wildfire and kill a bunch of people.

Tyrion and Jaime’s goodbye was a good scene, but Tyrion all along has known about a secret passage to The Red Keep?? And doesn’t use it for a quick victory over Cersei? Lol

 

N apparently this sunday she wants to keep on liberating slaves from cities...? Is she going back across the sea? No slaves in Westeros...

The writing has been SHIT this whole season....Jon is a 5-10 words an episode character now....He does nothing...his the Mountain. HBO spent all this money in production...they should've spent a few more million to have the D&D spend 7-10 days with George discussing the script n taking his input/editing...

You see? EVEN YOU can come up with more logical scenarios than what these professional writers came up with. This whole last season feels like a bad fan fiction. It has ignored what was slowly built for years just for the sake of shock value and a rushed race to finish the series. For example, we got SOOOO pumped by the revelation that Jon Snow was not a bastard, but the true heir to the Iron Throne only to have him this season reduced to just a supporting character that keeps repeating 'My Queen'. From the big hero of the battle of the bastards, proclaimed King of the North to just part of the scenery this season and possibly killing Dany and rejecting the throne. Really? The show that started so great will end as a turkey.

 

SMH....well fuck if the North can be independent...then the Reach, Dorne and The Iron Islands want the same shit...WHAT fuck FUCKERY is THIS??

 

How the fuck Bronn end up with High Garden n the reach? fuck a debt....n he's a master of coin?.......he should be the Master of War...they needed one. Podrick is a motherfucking King's guard??

N Arya should've stayed w/ Sansa be the Lord Commander of her Queens guard....

Bran being "king" is bullshit. Useless character that detracted from the whole story. It's a complete letdown. Jon being banished even though he's the rightful heir to the throne is trash.

 

There were just a handful of survivors from the Night Watch after the Wall was destroyed and most if not all died at Winterfell. How come there is still a Night Watch? For what purpose if the White Walkers were destroyed and Wildlings are their friends now? And what was the point of leaving through that tunnel/gate when most of the Wall was teared down?

About the Unsullied, they were greatly outnumbered by the allied 7 kingdoms armies. They indeed should had no say except 'please, don't kill us!" That said, it makes no sense they kept Jon alive when their queen's last orders were to kill all those that were not loyal to her. Once Greyworm found out that Jon killed Daenerys, he would have killed Jon on the spot! And yes, once the Unsullied sailed away, Sansa could have just let Jon comeback and who could recriminate that? But probably Jon wanted to punish himself and 'honor his punishment'...not sure if he would not fuck another hot redhaired wildling and have babies...

I liked the first half of the last episode, but once it hit the big death scene, it just turns into a mess.

So much of the episode is slowly paced, lots of walking around and just showing the cinematography (which was excellent), but skips over oh-so-unimportant things like Jon confessing he killed Dany, Grey Worm & The Unsullied’s reaction, the Dothraki’s reaction.

If they don’t want to kill Jon because they don’t want war with the North I can suspend belief for that, but why on earth would they give Tyrion a trial? LOL they would have killed him right away. Hell, at least have Sansa add she’s backing Tyrion too, since he protected her many times. It may not be believable that the North would go to war to Sansa’s orders for Tyrion, but it’s no more unbelievable that the Unsullied give two fucks about a trial for Tyrion.

The Iron Islands don’t ask for independence right after Bran gave it to The North? They’ve already rebelled twice in the last decade. Yara wants desperately to defend “her queen” Daenerys? Their partnership was strictly business, go back to the BOTB episode. Yara didn’t give two fucks about Daenerys other than wanting to get in her panties. Their agreement involved the Iron Islands getting independence, but would have to stop their raping and pillaging ways.

The Dothraki just hang around like law abiding citizens? LMAO

GRRM apparently give basic points for the ending to D&D and they just hit the bullet points for it without doing good storytelling to get to those points.

The night king and his army should’ve spent an entire season in Westeros...they should’ve pushed the living all the way to Dorne...before Jon/Arya would stop them.

And the GOT spin-off starting Naomi Watts is also dead...for now. GOOD!! I rather they move forward with the beginning of the end of House Targaryen story....minus the Dragons..it will be a good story.

The pilot was filmed, but apparently after HBO execs watched it, they immediately axed the series. I heard rumors that the pilot felt more like Downtown Abbey than GOT.

 

Funny thing is the original GOT series pilot was a disaster as well. Apparently the only reason it continued anyway was that HBO chairman Richard Plepler (correctly) thought it could be special and HBO had already sunk a lot of money into making it. They ended up doing a bunch of recastings and reshoots to save their investment and bring us all the greatest television series there ever was or ever will be.

To me the last season left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't any longer rank it as high as I had it after 'The Battle of The Bastards' which IMO was the most amazing stuff seeing on tv ever. The final episode of GOT was so bad and so disappointing that it made the LOST final episode look like a masterpiece.

 

Believe it or not I’m still trying to make time to actually sit down and watch the final season.
