respect to donaire. this fight answered more questions about inoue than another early KO. showed he can take it and bring heat late. i think he wouldve stopped donaire if he focused more on hooks to the body earlier in the fight.

Man I don’t know why he didn’t target Donaire’s body wheh he had Donaire hurt to the body. One of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. He could have gotten Donaire outta there.

It’s an even bigger Inoue accomplishment than that when you factor in how big Donaire was and the fact he came down in weight while Inoue started 2 divisions south. He overcame adversity nearly getting stopped in the 8th and convincingly beat a legend who was on top of his game.

Is this in the running for fight of the year? I haven’t seen enough to speak on it but it’s definitely the best fight I’ve seen all year.

I love Inoue, but gotta state this objectively... the Donaire that crushed Montiel would have fucked Inoue up.

Only because he’s a weight cheat. You put them in a pound for pound and Donaire ain’t taking Inoue’s punches like that.

Gotta remember though that Donaire is clearly bigger, and Inoue only rose to bantamweight in 2018

I dunno, Donaire has always been dangerous as fuck if you attack him, and inept as shit if you make him lead. I'm not so sure it's something you can boil down to different "versions".

It's a different fight with a younger faster donaire but I wouldnt say the outcome would change. Inoue also dealt with a bad cut since round 2

Plus, had it been a younger faster Donaire, Inoue would perhaps changed his strategies too.

In the end, Inoue won by a lot

What's next for Inoue then? I'm not as up to date with the lower weights as some others on here, who's the biggest threat?

I was wrong about Donaire. Even though he lost, that was one hell of a war. I thought he was done and then he hurt Inoue.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they have a rematch.

Arum mentioned lomachenko moving down to face inoue a while back before he even signed the kid. I expect that's what he is hoping to make at some point next year on ppv at 126

That would be trash and I'd have no interest in it. Both men would be compromised.

If it's not Loma versus Davis, Haney, or Lopez, then I don't care.

Inoue is a small dude. He'd have no business at 126.

    I wouldn't say "a lot".

    I had Inoue 8-4, plus the KD that's 116-111.

Playing Devil's Advocate, a prime Donaire would have the edge in handspeed over Inoue, which in itself creates problems. He'd time him with the hook far more regularly, only it a prime Donaire had a lot more velocity on his shots.

What would've happened if inoue fought roman gonzalez at 112 or 115?
