Finally the Mexican prospect Oscar Valdez (18-0 16 KOs)is stepping up in competition against former IBF featherweight champion, Evgeny Gradovich (21-1-1). The so-called 'Mexican Russian' Gradovich is almost four inches taller than the undefeated former Olympic medalist from Nogales, Mexico. Looking forward to this bout to see if he is indeed a future champ or just another hype job that looks great against bums. Gradovich lost his title last year on a technical decision after a head clash on the 8th round in his fifth title defense against Lee Selby.

I thought Valdez's last opponent (Avalos) was an ex champion. ( Maybe he was in a championship fight.)

    avalos is a bum.

valdez has talent and should smash gradovich, but we will see if he has improved any. so far he's been pretty reckless and wild

I don't see Valdez having any problems here.

    I think he's the goods.

Chris Avalos has never been a world champion, but fought and was stopped by IBF Super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton in his sole title fight to date.

I didn't say he was a future Hall of Famer. I said I thought he had held a title at one point or maybe he had fought for one. I haven't been arsed to check on either since.

Neither of the advertised fights materialized. Frampton fought some kid who had never been 10 before. And Valdez is fighting some guy with 14 fights. Nice job Top Rank.

valdeds opponent was 11 pounds over the limit. hard to blame the promoter for his unprofessionalism. he gained 8 pounds since the last weighin. anyhow im told the kid replacing him will give valded a harder fight

adames losing to texiera was worth the 4.99 for this month

Valdez's problem at 126 was punching power. Don't see how movi g to 130 is going to help that.

Valdez really loading up. He's just trying to get the KO. He needs to make sure he wins.
