Now now, Panchy, you're a little liar aren't you? You watched the trailer because you like James Bond movies.
No Time To Watch. James Bond Movies Recipe 1. Get an aged cunt with a posh accent. 2. Get a few young sluts. 3. Get some cars, watches, etc. 4. Get a few muscular baddies from Russianistan or somewhere. 5. Drive around, explosions, loads of stiff accents....The End.
The older movies aged badly but were still better. Daniel Craig should be doing King Lear at the "Plod Theater".....instead he's "Bond, James Bond....din, din, din, din, din-da-din-din, din-da-din-din". Nonsense.
Pearse Brosnan, yeah? He's your hero, yeah? He's your legend? A poncy Irish schoolboy from a sawmill somewhere in County Meath, famous for fuck all other than endless fields. And here he is, prancing about like Lord Lucan on Steroids with SAM missiles and Jets and rockets and bombs and Lady Cunty and Lord Cuntard and what have you. Behold, fucksters, the level of talent you need to get the gig of Seamus Bond. Fuck all.
The last two Bond films of the Brosnan era were the worst of the franchise. Golden Eye was pretty good. Connery was head and shoulders above every other wanker to play the role, although Timothy Dalton was pretty good.
Daniel Craig is easily the most talented actor ever in the role. Connery was great for his time, but that acting wouldn't work these days. Connery's Bond was mostly teen boy fiction, in Craig's era the character is much more complex and complete. After the two the next best is Dalton, who is a fine actor but lacks the charisma needed in the role. Moore had the charisma but his Bond was a mere buffoon. Brosnan was the worst, he was better suited for a role in The Bold and the Beautiful
If Connery was young today he could pretty easily adjust and play a more badass and edgy Bond. Daniel Craig is a solid actor with zero charisma, and charisma is the main trait the Bond role has always demanded.
I don't quite believe that, tbh. Connery had an amazing screen presence and charisma, but his range as an actor was very narrow. The Craig Bond is not merely a bad-ass but also vulnerable, impulsive, cynical, brutal, has problems with his conscience etc. I haven't seen Connery portraying any such complex characters. He is usually the quick-witted, wise and sarcastic man who is in full control all the time, just like a Bond of his era was supposed to be
