Joshua stink it out in one fight which was an immediate rematch against a guy that just knocked him out. You guys sound like a bunch of reactive teen girls talking about a rapper. Stfu.

Joshua was impressive. He showed a discipline, IQ and physical flexibility he hadn’t shown and those seems to be two of his main weaknesses.

Obviously he’s not going to fight Wilder, Fury or most opponents in the same way and I’ve lost a lot of respect for the boxing IQ of some posters here...

Apparently, Manny Robles Wanted to Start Camp In July, but They Didn't Get Around To it Until September...

    That's ALL On Ruiz Bruh...

Ruiz's Strategy is Fine; He's a "Short" Heavyweight By Today's Standards and SLOW of Foot by Any Measure...The WAY Dude Fights is Fine Given Those Liabilities, He's Just Got to Be THE Best Version of Himself Every Time Out, Physically...

It's On HIM Ultimately, Not His Trainers...

    Right...

Joshua Made a "Tactical Adjustment"...Remains to Be Seen if This is a Complete CHANGE In His Style Though...There's a Difference in Fighting Cautiously and BEING a Cautious Fighter...

I would love to see Joshua bust out this new hippity hop style against Fury/Wilder. They maybe flummoxed to the point where they lose a 12 round decision

Nobody is flummoxing Fury. They might KO him- and thus far only him and one other guy have taken those bombs- but they ain't flummoxing him.

Fury is by far and away the most accomplished in terms of a ring acumen.

He'd whitewash Ruiz and it wouldn't take two attempts.

Lol. How "is" he going to fight Wilder? I'm a boxing fan. I'm not some groupie hoping my guy can make a lot of money by stinking the place out.

Joshua Wouldn't Beat Fury Fighting That Way...You're Not Going to OUT-FURY Fury...Fury's Better @ It, Looooooooooooonger and Much More Fluid...

Hard Imagining ANY Current Heavy OutPointing Fury Over 12, Whoever Beats Him Will HAVE to Knock Him Out...

Joshua Could Lull Wilder to Sleep a Bit and TAKE Rounds Fighting This Way, But He'd Have to Get Hit Even LESS Than he Did Today To BEAT Deontay...

Ruiz indeed must take the blame.

It reminds me of that time Arreola's people said he wasn't ready for a fight, that he was too heavy and that "Elite Athletes" don't take fights on short notice.

I am sorry.........but heavyweight champs need to act like Champs.

    Ruiz didn't.

the phony war will break out now.

    Loads of talk and shit.

Fury has to beat Wilder or he won't get close to the title ever again.

Fury’s offense is so basic it’s not hard to see him getting out punched to a decision. Compare how Ortiz was winning early rounds against Wilder to how Fury wasn’t.

Fury WAS Winning Early Rounds vs. Wilder, They Just Weren't Being Scored For Him, Apparently...

Granted, They Weren't as IMPRESSIVE as Ortiz's Early Rounds vs. Wilder, but Fury WAS Winning Them By and Large...

Fury didn’t do shit in the early rounds. The reason there was such controversy in boxing circles and not so much in the public is because Fury didn’t look like he was taking over until he got dropped and then when he really started to take over he really got dropped.

You have to have Fury decisively sweeping the early rounds to complain about the result and boxing fans generally did so they could complain about the result.

If Ruiz was as good as the guys of the Benitez era, then he'd have a point. But Ruiz is a small fat guy who got lucky. It's just that simple. He can't keep his weight down. I understand he's a fatty.......but there's fat and then there is simply being out of shape. Right now one of the marquee fighters on the planet is a guy who got sparked by this fat midget and who then had to adopt one of the {allegedly} most hated modes of all time just to get back to square 1.

Square 1 being talking shit about a Wilder fight he's got no intention of making cos he can't win it, or doesn't think he can win it, and the money in London is simply too good anyways to be bothered taking that risk.

Look forward to Ruiz III and Pulev and Povetkin II or Whyte II or Hunter or Hughie Fury cos he's not fighting TF or DW anytime soon.

Joshua will plain lose to anyone who can hit him on the side of the head with a big left hook.

He wouldn't have gotten work as Fraziers sparring partner.

What Did Wilder Do in the Early Rounds???:Dont:...

Boxing Matches are Scored on Clean Punches, Effective Aggression, Defense and Ring Generalship...In the Early Rounds, Neither Man Registered in Terms of Clean Punching/Effective Aggression, But Fury Certainly Did Regarding Defense and Ring Generalship...

REED's Never 1nce "Complained" About the Fight and Didn't Mind a Draw @ All....But he'd Be Lying if he Said he Didn't Believe Fury WON It...Aside from the Knockdown Rounds, Which One's Did You Score for Wilder???...

I'll give Joshua his credit. It takes balls to get back in the ring with somebody who gave you a beatdown and win, no matter who it is. I was also surprised he was able to fight on the back foot in the way he did for the full 12, he was flagging a little bit in some spots but for the most part his gas tank held up well.

It was negative, and he did seem to go into panic mode a bit whenever he did get tagged, but both of these things are understandable when you take into account what happened in New York and with all that was on the line. As other posters have said, it depends whether this was a tactical change in place for this fight only, or if it is now the new AJ template. If it's the latter he isn't beating Wilder or Fury fighting like that.

Ruiz was really disappointing, obviously out of shape and looking for the one shot, no sense of urgency, no body work, nothing.

Ruiz is a bum. He got lucky when AJ was careless trying to finish him off. Changed the dynamic of the fight and AJ was never able to recover

If neither guy is landing punches how do you give one guy credit over the other for “defense and ring generalship”?

In the rounds where neither guy landed significantly I favored Wilder because he was more the aggressor and I assume the threat of his offense kept Fury from attempting his own. You say Fury looked cooler and boxed blacker and so he gets the round by default.

I gave Wilder 2 or 3 of the first 4. I could see 3-1 Fury but to act like he decisively won any of them is absurd.

A few posters seem to think there’s a “New Joshua” that hip hops and lives with fear in his eyes. They seem to think he’d try to hip hop if he fights Fury or Wilder.

Which Guy Came into the Fight w/a DEFENSIVE Reputation???...Which Guy Came In WANTING to Utilize the Ring, Maintain Distance and Avoid Exchanges???...

Defense is Self Explanatory...Ring Generalship Boils Down to Which Guy Fought HIS Fight That Round???...So As a Judge, Your ONLY Recourse was to Score Most of the Early Round Even or for Fury...When Styles are as Diametrically Opposed as Deontay Wilder's and Tyson Fury's, it's Easier to Ascertain "Ring Generalship"....

The Scoring Criteria is THERE for a Reason and Rest Assured, If You Turn In a Card With 4-5 EVEN Rounds, You're Not Going to Be Judging for Very Looooooong...

When Did REED Say Fury "Decisively" Won???...

In Your Response, Please Spare REED Your A to Z Extremes and Hyperbole Dude..."Boxing Blacker" and All that Bullshit:rolleyes:...You're ALWAYS Reaching for Some Lame, Racial Component to REED's Boxing Opinions and that Tact has Exceeded its Shelf Life, Frankly...

I don’t see it and neither did the judges. There was one early round he won clearly and he landed a bit in that one.
