    Im wondering if it's a lie to throw us off. Because when Aykroyd was on Rogan he was saying that he just started and that Bill hasnt even started yet. But in looking deeper it appears that this movie they are going to pass the torch to these kids so maybe it is finished.

    We never said that wasn’t the case. But taking decades into account there does come a point when it’s kind of too late and it kind of became too late when those guys hit geriatricsville. Now I don’t mind a new Ghostbusters film but to be honest I’m a little too old too and therefore probably won’t even watch it.

    My original point was nobody wants to see those old wrinkled up guys looking too old to be Ghostbusters. It’ll look as bad as old Han Solo, Luke and Leia and old Deniro, Pesci and Pacino all trying to relive their glory days while looking way too old.

    I disagree. Being a GB likely has the same physical and health requirements as being a firefighter. These guys need to be able to run, maneuver and possibly help downed civilians and do it all while carrying a big proton pack.

    Also for us who hold these guys in high esteem, we may want to see them in this old wrinkled geriatric state (I personally don’t) but why should the younger generation whom this film is really marketed to. Because like it or not people aged 55 and above are not who today’s films are marketed for.

    If you look back at old threads you will find my feelings about the original 'Ghostbusters' movie: I didn't like it, a failed movie if you are over 11. I really don't give a hoot about this film or the prior all female cast reboot. But I know these films have cultural relevance...just like those shitty Fast & Furious and Transformers films do.

    In the first film, Venkman talks about franchise rights. That’s probably the best route to using the older guys.

    Assuming they don’t go the route of GB2 and have everyone hilariously not giving a shit about the guys who stopped them from getting stomped by a giant marshmallow man.
