    I think this devaces
You can argue talent was better in the 00s but I think this decade has seen the best fights getting made far more readily which is a huge plus. And if you take away pac and floyd - who failed to fight when it mattered, anyway- i dont actually think talent was any deeper then at all

It was, really. Vitali was good to watch but fought a bunch of dunskies, Wlad was a big insufferable queerhawk.

Not a single fight of note between the two of them after Lewis x Vitali

Huh? AJ initiated fewer clinches over those 12 rounds than Wlad did over an average minute.

Aye. Vitali was excellent but after Lewis there was nobody around to push him, bar Sanders for a couple of rounds. It just meant his fights were clinical beatdowns with no sense of drama, not his fault but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way to watch.

Wlad was a great talent but he was horrendous to watch for the most part, safety first, the holding. He did score some nice KO's here and there but it meant sitting through the tedium to get there.

Wlad really should have been disqualified in many if not most of his defences - that he often capped them off with a nice KO usually just felt besides the point.

Seriously, who or what has happened since 2010?
    • (the 2nd ´Fight Of The Century´ ) Floyd Mayweather Jr v Manny Pacquiao
    • One of the most dubious and controversial multi-weight boxers ever: the De La Hoya-sponsored Saul ´Canelo´ Alvarez
    • overrated Gennady Golovkin
    • Froch v Groves I and II
    • Muhammad Ali dead
      The DogShitschko Brothers
    • ´Brand AJ´ - 80,000 plebs singing ´Sweet Caroline´ at Wembley Stadium (and claiming ´I was there´ when AJ outpointed some Euro-bum)
    • Tyson Fury: the best or ´but he does nothing!´ Heavyweight, depending on your view
    • Deontay Wilder: hardest puncher/worst boxer in Heavyweight history
    • Errol Spence Jr and his Ferrari 488
    • ´Fast´ Eddie Hearn
    • and last but not least, (´The Money Fight´): Floyd Mayweather Jr v Conor McGregor - biggest boxing event of our times and most talked-about on the dead-as-dead Fightbeat Forum

Whats 'dubious' or 'controversial' about him?

And naturally old Magus selectively forgets the best fighter in the game, Lomachenko - about as entertaining a pure technician as theres ever been

    About Canelo?

He's the most accommodated fighter I've ever seen ... he makes Ray Leonard look like Teddy "Red Top" Davis

Yeah, I also conveniently forgot about Ward-Gatti I, II, III and Corrales-Castilo I, neither of which have come really that close to being replicated for drama and action since 2010...but that´s just me giving this decade a chance, yeah?

Yes. I don't know any other such case from earlier decades, so it could be one "2010s thing" too
