I should have clarified. What I'm saying is if two guys of equal athletic talent share a ring, that would be the deciding factor. It would be foolish to say that a son of a world class boxer would be talentless as obviously he comes from fighting stock, but if he is well off and comfortable there is no NEED for him to box.

It is true that boxing has always been a sport of a low social-economic class, that is the case all around the world. The more rich Finland has become, the less people participate in boxing, now it is dominated by immigrants.

However, I don't think poorer people are any more tough or hungry than others. It is more about the fact that it is a cheap sport to do and in poor environment there is usually more fighting around, which means people find out if they have talent for the sport or not.

 

Also it has a lot of risks which poorer people are more likely to find worthwhile

 

I don't think that's the case. YOu have to come from a pretty fucked up environment (most of the time) to want to be a boxer. Getting hit is not fun

 

If most kids are inferior in talent to their fathers then I pray Khan doesnt have a son who turns pro.
