The official thread. Post the most famous of original great tunes. (probably cdogg and Hut will know about this being as most other freaks on here don´t know much about music, but anyway...) What´s this song been sampled for? (try not to cheat and Google it) Great instrumental, btw
I’ll have to do this at home because this new phone doesn’t have a proper headphone jack because apple are fucktards
Oh yeah, they are - I found that out last 2 weeks when I was in the UK - I bought my folks a new iPad Air to replace one of thetwo old iPad Mini they had. So, they gave me and my wife that old iPad Mini, which I prompty restored to factory defaults...only to discover its almost impossible to upgrade from its original IOS of 9.5 or whatever, to 10.0+ - or even load any Apps whatsoever - basically renedering it useless.
I’m afraid I don’t know what song sampled that... probably a song I don’t know I’d probably do better in reverse i.e. “what song was sampled to make this new song?”
Cool Rhodes or Wurlitzer sound on that... at first I thought it was through a Uni-Vibe but I think that’s just a strait ahead phase shifter
'Midnight In A perfect World' by DJ Shadow off the seminal 'Entroducing...' album of 1996. An absolute monster of sampled musical brilliance.
Have definitely heard this but I have no idea who it is that sampled it this original is far more tolerable though
I don't like this type of music so much, but that album is just insanely good. Comes off like a movie-score or something because there's no cunt rapping over the top of everything - it's almost totally instrumental:
Hey guys, did you know Big Phil from Hounslow, yeah, the guy with THE POWER OF PHIL, is one of the most sampled artists in hip hop?
Hahahaha to be honest it stumps me as well. Apparently Tupac Shakur was a big fan. I remember someone posted an image of his favourite artists that he'd written down, kinda bizarre to say the least.
I had a coworker years ago that was a keyboardist... big, burly, church-going black cat called Tommy ... nice guy ... we got to talking about music one day and he brought up Phil Collins and I looked at him like he had 3 heads
