I'll be sure to watch your video too, but answering the question, because she is a woman fighter. Granted, she might be the best woman fighter I have seen at least since Rijker and I do like her brash persona too, but I really don't care about women in boxing
Watched the video too, and I agree with pretty much everything. She is doing everything right, and there is nothing to bitch about, apart from the sport itself. Now I agree too that the 'dyke' crap is annoying and juvenile. But sport fans tend to get e-aggressive all the time. I don't see her getting treated very differently from other superstars who seem to irk people for no good reason
Do You HATE Her Though???...Are You BOTHERED By the Niche She's Carved for Herself in the "Manly Art of Self-Defense"??? REED
FYI, No "Sunday Puncher Boxing" Gifs in This Video, So it SHOULDN'T Be Blocked in Any Region for Any Reason... REED
No, as I said I actually like her outspoken personality. In my younger days I usually preferred athletes who were no-nonsense and humble, now I have a soft spot for characters such as Shields. Still, I do believe most of the hate comes from the fact that she is s female fighter, and some see that as belittling the sport or taking time from male fights. I don't want to speak for others though
I wouldn't say I hate her, I'm as indifferent as can be to her. I've just got no interest whatsoever in women's boxing. If there is a big Vegas fight on which I've stayed up until 4am to watch and she is the chief support I have to sit through before it starts, then yeah I might hate her. Hasn't happened yet though so it's all fine.

I honestly don't think about her enough to hate her. I just don't think any womans fighter should be shown on TV - they're nothing more a sideshow. Essentially, a whole sport full of Butterbeans - sideshows. Maybe we should ask, why do you like her? You seemed pretty indifferent about hoe boxing just like the rest of us until she came along. What's so special about her?
My main gripe is she's boring and has no power. If she were knocking chicks out brutally, it would be easier to overlook the fact she's a woman. But she's not.
Sorry, REED, but looks like the novelty of this big mouth hoe might be wearing off: Shields-Habazin Peaked At 288,000 Viewers On Showtime
As Slice said, don't hate her, just completely indifferent. I do hate that they put her in prime time tv spots, but that's a completely different story
HBO started that shit at the end too, putting female fights on all the time. Always wondered if they did that to save money or they actually thought they would build a female audience.
My guess would be save money with the hope it might accomplish the latter. They probably told people it was "an investment in the future" or some bullshit.
The former. By time they started showing hoes they knew they were leaving boxing. It wasnt a decision made on a whim. The executive team probably decided at least a year in advance that they would discontinue boxing.
Realistically, boxing's fate on HBO was sealed as soon as House of Cards became a hit on Netflix. That was the start of Netflix producing successful original content, and HBO having to really step up their content game to compete from there. And to compete with Netflix, it meant cutting the budget elsewhere. If Netflix never started creating original content, there would still be boxing on HBO. HBO is fighting to stay alive. But to fair to HBO, Succession is far and away the best series out right now. Better than any Netflix/Amazon/Showtime/Starz series.
Don't think so. Boxing could have been an excellent competitive advantage for HBO in his battle against Netflix. Unfortunately, the boxing division was runned by total incopetents, so the results wasn't worth the investement. Even if it wasn't for Netflix, I'm pretty sure it would also have been canned.
Agreed, but i think it was not only to save money but so they could at the same time claim they "were trying new things" ...
That's true. That Peter Nelson never gave a shit about boxing, and I knew it from the moment I saw him interviewed.
Unfortunately, nobody can make an argument that the sport is better off without HBO. I've lost boxing discussion contact with a lot of casuals I knew because they followed the sport through HBO. Many of them didnt have Showtime, but they all had HBO. In real life, I dont know anybody who's a DAZN sub.
Might have a detrimental incidence in the States, but HBO was pretty much a non-entity in the rest of the world
