Sad to think this era will be coming to an end in the not too distant future. Will never see anything like it again. Would love to see them play together in the same team just once.

Aguero overtakes Henry for most Premier League goals by an overseas player. Is he better? I've never been a big fan of Aguero to be honest, he's obviously really good but I dunno, something about his style of play doesn't really do it for me, where as Henry was one of my favourites. The stats are amazing though, I didn't actually realise he was that high up the goalscoring charts.

Even if they didnt bag a world cup, theyre the best two ever for my money. They've duopolized the ballon d'or for nearly a decade and a half scoring at unprecedented rates while not even being all out strikers. The only point of comparison whether in terms of longevity or goals output is pele & , to me, never playing in europe is a bigger astrix besides his name than those two never winning a world cup. Theyre proving it 60 games a year every year, not 6 games every 4

    Eurocentric pov

the vast majority of great South American footballers of his era never played in Europe

The results of national team matches and club matchups between top European sides and top Brazilian and Argentinian sides don’t support the notion of European superiority in this period

So nice, Ah liked it twice.

O' course, in the nineteenth Century, a tremendous proportion o' the best players were based in Scoatland... in the next Century, we're set tae return tae the top!

    SEE YOU, IN TWENTY TWO!

I found out today that the "Segaaaaa" jingle heard for two seconds at the beginning of Genesis games took up 1/8 of the entire cartridge space. Mental.

First PC my family ever owned had a hard disk space of 20 MB. This was far out.

Phrases like 386 SX and 486 DX and then PENTIUM.....

Makes me weep the fucking effort my parents went to get us this stuff and you can get it for 10,000 times better and one tenth the price today.

My grandparents bought my family an Apple IIC “portable” (it was “portable” the way a table is “portable”, we never once moved it anywhere) in 1985 and I thought it was just incredible... it probably takes more memory to post this message than that machine had in its entirety

    I had one of these:

    IBM PC Junior

4.77 MHz CPU and 64 KB of RAM. No hard drive. You had to boot an operating system (DOS) from a 5.14 floppy disk.

Had no interest in computers at the time and only used it to play games. One of my favorites was called Sierra Boxing.

It was really cool. You could create boxers along with a bunch of their stats. Power, speed, so on. You could also specify weight and height but it was much too primitive to visually represent them. If you made one guy 8 foot tall and the other 4 they would appear the same for example.

When i got a copy it had all of the heavyweight champs pre-loaded from Sullivan to a few of the belt holders at the time. (mid 80's) This wasn't a purchased copy so i don't know if the game actually came with all those guys programmed in, or if the previous guy i got the disk from went through the time to enter them all.
