I prefer Hoffman’s filmography... Hoffman is good at vanishing into a character ... the more he has to not be Dustin Hoffman in a role, the better he performs Hanks is better as a relatable character though, conveys common emotional states more realistically, to me If I wanted a guy to play a really peculiar character, I’d choose Hoffman but if I want a guy to play a character that has a lot in common with the people watching the film, gimme Hanks
McDogg basically summed it up. Hoffman had more acting ability, but Hanks just has that relatable, likable charisma to him - and I don't think it's fake. There's a lot of fake in Hollywood, but Tom Hanks truly seems like a nice, good-hearted guy. Who the Hell has ever said anything bad about Tom Hanks?
It’s true ... he seems like a decent person... rare in that world where you can find narcissists in the soup
I know you don't like him, but everyone says that Tom Cruise is generally a nice guy. Weird as shit, but a nice guy. Takes his time to learn the names of virtually EVERY staff member involved with a film, and is friendly with all of them. That can't be said for many movie stars.
