It's a complicated piece. Is it possible he was portraying the insincerity of a scuzzy boss trying to motivate his team for his own gain?

He was great in What's eating Gilbert Grape. At 16 he made Johnny Depp look like a fucking amateur.

    That's not saying much.

Johnny Depp is far and away THE most overrated actor who ever lived.

Depp is garbage. Always has been, always will be.

DiCaprio is great. The rest o' Ye who disagree are just jive-ass mother fuckers.

That wiz a bit harsh but know this - Leonardo owns a scene like a fax machine.

    He’s hit or miss.
I think he’s overrated as an actor too. Although he does have some very good performances I agree he is usually replacement level. Much like Pitt he got to where he was because of his looks and in Leo’s case he gets prominent roles because he’s a movie star rather than a great actor. Difference between the two is Pitt was occasionally pretty bad early on and improved tremendously to date and while Leo started out looking like an acting prodigy only to fail to reach his potential to date. Leo probably spent to much time bagging models, which I can’t say I blame him for one bit. I think Leo’s standout performance where he didn’t look replacement level was Django Unchained.

Leo's standout performance was pretty clearly The Aviator.

To me a standout performance is a performance where a guy hits all the right marks and you can’t imagine another actor doing a better job in the same role. Think Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday or Jamie Foxx as Ray.

I think Leo was very good in the Aviator, I have zero issues with his performance or portrayal but I also could see someone doing it just as well and possibly better. Leo’s performance in Django on the other hand was probably not recreatable or surpassable by many other actors in my opinion. I thought Leo just hit all the right marks there which is why I mention that as his standout performance.

Leo greatest performance was in The Man in The Iron Mask...particularly in the scenes he is wearing the mask.

I'd agree with this, actually. I didn't like Django at all but DiCaprio was indeed excellent in it. I think I've enjoyed him in most films he's been in, he's nearly always good, but Django might be the only time I've thought there wouldn't be many actors who could have nailed that part as well as he did.

Strong year for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. The winner, which I disagree with, was Tommy Lee Jones for The Fugitive. Other nominees were Ralph Fiennes for Schindler’s List, John Malkovich for In the Line of Fire, and Pete Postlethwaite for In the Name of the Father. Not nominated was Sean Penn for Carlitos Way

TLJ was brilliant in The Fugitive. I don't have too many complaints about it.
