I knew the contrarian in you would say something like that, but... he's basically without a chance against Tyson, Lewis, and Holy. They would have skull fucked his skill-less ass.
Tyson in particular I could see ending it in one round. Wilder is so open for the left hook. The same one Mike put Carl Williams away with. I always felt that Lewis vs Wilder is just Lewis vs Grant II. But after last night, I could legit see Wilder not being able to get out of round 1. Holy would put a sustained beating on Wilder but he’d probably make it harder than he has to like he did against Bert Cooper so I can see Wilder having a moment or two where he hurts Holyfield.
Pretty much every great heavyweight would beat Wilder, "unless", that much is obvious. However, his "unless" is bigger than it is for most, and pointing that out is not being a contrarian
Not the ones with reliable chins. Tyson and Holy are NOT getting taken out by single shots. It's just not happening. Both had great chins. You needed to lay down a beatdown to stop both. Lewis? He might, but theres a 99% chance that Lewis annihilates Wilder before that shot lands. Overall, Mike is the worst matchup for Wilder of the three. He'd effortlessly get inside on Wilder - because the man has no jab, and it'd be overall extremely quickly.
Holyfield could be hurt, and he was. Just because 6'9 Fury was able to attack him from a distance, it doesn't automatically mean 6'2 Holyfield could, nor could Holy maul him in Fury style. I agree Wilder is practically without a chance with Tyson
Holy wouldnt have to maul him Fury style. Holy would easily counter Wilder's retarded swings with his counter hook, and Wilder would get stopped. Wilder does not have a solid chin like prime Bowe. Holy would lay his ass out. Not AS quickly as Tyson and Lewis would, but within 6-7.
I rate Wilder higher than most, but he as basically no chance against these guys. He might trouble tyson more than the other two, cause he's so much taller than him, but still, he's not skilled enough, nor coordinated enough to capitalize on this advantage. He has the proverbal puncher chance against Lewis, but i don't think he land the bomb in more than 1 in 10 fights. Holy is the worst matchup for him imo. Rock solid chin and would have countered Wilder ass badly
Wilder presents zero trouble for Tyson. None. His height means jack shit, since unlike Lewis, Wilder never learned how to really use his height. The book is out on Wilder - his power is only effective when he's coming forward or is able to fully plant his feet. If you pressure him, he'll back up, and that mitigates his power. He'd be running from Mike from the opening bell, and he has putrid footwork/balance as well as no jab. Tyson KO's Wilder in 3, tops. Might end inside of 2.
