Fury must be the clear favorite as he is far more all-around skilled and mentally strong, but Joshua's athletic ability will pose him a new kind of challenge.

    Fascinating fight

Fury would plod forward and try to slug it out with Joshua who would take no chances and attempt to stink it out with his hippity hop style

Fury. I've never picked him in any of his big fights (Klitschko and both Wilder fights) so I won't do it again. Anyhow, he's just better than AJ.

Have to give the edge to Fury, but Joshua has more tools than just an overhand right.

Fury, because he can fight and AJ cannot.

Fury for sure. I’ve always felt that stylistically he’s the worst match up for Joshua.

    It's up to Fury, really.

One caveat: Joshua is on notice now after his own personal setbacks and having the benefit of what we saw last night. He also has an excellent trainer.

But Fury should still win if he goes out and boxes like he can.

You're right that it's up to Fury.

Sadly, the guy is ALWAYS a risk to self-destruct.

But the tinman can't beat Fury at his best.

Fury should be able to pull his teeth in short order and basically wear him down.

If it's in England, every whore, every hanger on, every noise maker and BS merchant and "I did this and I did that" clown will be out and about in effect.

Fury likes to get way too involved in this shit and he likes to fight too many battles.....responding to every little insinuation.

All his people are like that. They feel the need to fight everything out and "settle" everything.

That's where the issue will be for Fury....getting distracted and worn out in the weeks leading up to the fight by what some fucking clown said on YT or twitter.

I would take Joshua with odds, but Joshua's last two performances vs Fury's last two = Fury.

Erase the last two performances and I'd be picking Joshua with decent confidence.

I think Fury-Wilder III will happen before Fury-AJ. Wilder will cash out on the guaranteed 40% by invoking the rematch clause, he'd be a fool not to to be honest. Even if he knows he can't win, he isn't going to be getting near that kind of money going another route as he's right at the back of the queue now otherwise.

In what sense is it obvious that AJ is better than Wilder?

Wilder needs to see a proper conditioning coach. He has got to find a way to strengthen his legs. But it's asking a lot. How can he beat a 40lb heavier man? He's got to get strong and get a game plan.

Joshua is being undersold because of the Ruiz fight, where he probably fought sick (and because he is annoying). The fact is, his record: Whyte, Povetkin, Parker, Takam is not bad at all.

He got hit some by Whyte and Povetkin, but us Fury fans should know it doesn't mean much, and he got a gift stoppage against Takam, but he was winning the bout handily.

As a boxer he is clearly inferior to Fury, but his size and shorter punches will give Fury a new kind of challenge, and Fury still isn't the biggest puncher to challenge his suspect chin

I can't see a way AJ wins to be honest, he's not going to beat Fury on the back foot, if he tries to make it an inside battle Fury can either maul him up close or box his ears off from range, turning and punishing AJ whenever Joshua tries to close the distance. It would have to be a freak punch or something like that because I can't see a strategy AJ could employ that he'd have sustained success with.

Fury, any way he wants - backwards, forward, sideways, inside, outside. AJ won't win a round, feignt, feignt feet reset, feet reset repeat repeat.

Id probably rather see Fury fight Dillian Whyte or a fit Ruiz

Its a heavyweight replay of Tito-Hopkins but more one sided....one guy following the other around the ring trying and failing to properly get his feet under him to punch

Could be, but it isn't that long ago when Fury struggled with Otto Wallin, who apart from southpaw stance has little advantages over Joshua. Things are not always linear in boxing

Fury only struggled with Wallin because of the cut. Take that drama away and it was a fairly routine and comfortable, albeit unimpressive victory.

Wallin's got a good style to trouble fury tbf, get swarming in there, trying to lay gloves on wherever he can touch. If fury is hopkins, wallin is a poor mans calzaghe, not tito. It'll be a high output swarmer that beats fury...somebody too busy punching to buy feignts

Agreed, but the point is, Fury didn't look like a guy who would totally clown Joshua. Take away Joshua-Ruiz I (where Joshua fought sick) and few would see this as a gross mismatch, although Fury deserves to be a firm favorite

However you rate him, there's no evidence he is better than Wilder. I'd pick Wilder to knock him out in fact.

AJ can't fight a lick. Neither can Wilder, but only one of them has an equalizer.

I'd still pick Wilder over AJ.
