No. He is a bit like grotesque art, sometimes randomly he can pose interesting views on subjects but more often than not he just makes you feel sick

Yep the problem is those points either get lost in the middle of long-winded rants where he veers on and off topic. Other times he acts like he's one of the few people in the world who know something and he's bringing it to the public's attention like he's Edward Snowden.

Or in some asinine metaphor that he sticks with for like 3 minutes

So his jab is like a car right? And every so often you have to change the oil otherwise things start not going so smooth. And the distance between them is like the state of utah that the car drives across but if you havent been to mechanics lately the engine gets real hot in utah, the car moves less efficiently, you know this if you've driven there....*90 seconds later*.....so after he's been to the mechanics and gotten his oil changed he'll be able to get across utah much faster

He must think everyone is a complete moron the way he over-explains obvious concepts.

Teddy serves ONE good purpose and one good purpose alone - keeping the boxing know-nothings at ESPN in check.

For instance, one of them will say "Floyd Mayweather is the greatest boxer of all time, isn't he Teddy?"

And Teddy will serve his purpose by saying, "No, he's not. There's Sugar Ray Robinson, Willie Pepp, Henry Armstrong, Joe Louis, Roberto Duran, ect.."

And the ESPN idiots will just sit there dumbfounded because they've never heard any of these names (except for maybe Joe Louis).

THAT much Teddy is good for.

But that's it. Everything else about him is a negative.

He was not like that way when I met him years ago, I think he does a lot of that for the cameras. He was very nice to me as well to an old colleague of mine and had a very congenial discussion about welterweight and middleweight history. I do know of one guy in Houston that has history with him and that knows him well and hates his guts. So like anything else, some like the guy and some don't, simple as that.

I think the cameras is what people are talking about, not what he's like as or in person.

I am retired now from all of that. It ended with the NFL season. I am on field security/lineman/bodyguard for the Houston Texans, and that most likely was my final season as I am leaving the area soon. If I am asked to return - perhaps.

If he wasn’t such a narcissist, he’d be better... as an Xs and Os guy, he’s fine... he definitely knows the game technically

While REED Looooooooooooooooooves Teddy's PASSION and PURPOSE, He's More Easily Digested in SMALL Doses...

ESPN Obviously Noticed This as Well as Now Teddy's Only Used in a Before/After the Fact Capacity Instead of Fight Night Broadcasting...

No. I like when he goes into detail on the technical stuff, that's great. Everything else is just tedious, long-winded, pointless bollocks. He doesn't seem to hold consistent positions either which annoys me more than anything else.

Kellerman's the prime example of a guy who let the money/fame get to his head.

Circa 99 he was liked by boxing fans he was one of us - a young FAN of the sport who loooovvveeed to talk boxing. Seemed very down-to-earth and accessible - like a guy who wouldn't mind sitting at a bar with you and talking boxing for hours.

Now he's "First Take" Max, and comes across as a self-absorbed, sometimes aloof prick who loves the sound of his own voice.

STILL, he commands more respect than the Mark Kriegel's and Chris Mannix's of the world because Max has forgotten more boxing than they know... but he definitely changed after he became more notable.

It's disappointing just to think about. Picture it, both Max and Brian Kenny w/no agendas, giving a fresh and honest take on the sport because they could... since HBO and Showtime were the ONLY major players in the sport at that time, and Max/Kenny weren't affiliated with either.

Now both are just hired shills.

That's exactly where I encountered him at the Hilton Americas Bar in Houston after JMM - Juan Diaz 1. He's not what you called him. Once he knows you are an expert - he listens attentively as much as he talks. He gave me a mention on FNF without saying my name because he didn't know it. He is a helluva guy to talk with.

Then maybe he's just jaded because he has to do deal with SAS and that annoying bimbo Molly Querim everyday.

The very large majority of that show's viewers are not boxing experts nor are they boxing historians. He turns on the act for the cameras as he is in showbiz for millennial casual fans of the sport. Again, once he knows you know what you are talking about he will listen to you.
