    Greatest ring-walk ever was Tyson-Spinks.

Mike just walked in - no robe, no shirt, no fuckin gimmicks or props - just walked in looking like a leopard about to execute a gazelle.

Fuck these gimmicky ring-walks of today. This ain't WWE.

Fury's entrance was great, the Patsy Cline number provided such a bizarre juxtaposition to the event, loved it.

Saying that, Tyson's entrance against Spinks was indeed legendary. No music, just a constant drone periodically interspersed with the sounds of rattling chains. You could feel the electricity and anticipation in the air.

The best though surely has to be James DeGale walking to the ring whilst that bloke followed him shouting "Chunky" over and over again into a microphone.

One of my favourites was Hamed's against Paul Ingle. You had about 5 fake Naz's dancing before Hamed rolled out in a cadillac whilst wearing a microphone headset shouting "oiiiiii maaan, there's only one Prince Naseem!". Ingle said before the fight if the entrance went longer than 5 minutes he would go back to his dressing room, he was true to his word and as he was legging it back he passed the fake Naz's who all called him a wanker. Top stuff.

Better than that was his delayed entrance at the MGM Grand Arena before his fight with Marco Antonio Barerra.
    • took ages in the dressing room, keeping everyone waiting for way too long
    • sat on a ring(piece) as it traversed toward the ring
    • got soaked in beer, courtesy of a drunk Mexican
    • failed to perform the ring somersault
    • spoke some Al-Qaeda stuff
    • got thoroughly dismantled by Barerra
    • was never heard from again

Slouched on a chair singing depressing alcoholic-granny music to himself. So good

Even though it was cheesy and they ended up doing it to death in subsequent fights, Vitali's entrance against Sam Peter was cool, with all the ex-heavyweight champs.

    It really is brilliant :Jest:

Also, did he get Gala to re-do her vocals from 'Freed From Desire' to say "Fury's on fire, your defence is terrified"? :Jest: Just realised the actual lyrics have been changed in that one.

Yeah i noticed that too. The order of the songs does it for me....the hyped one first then he slows it down with patsy klein while he slouches in an arm chair:Jest: a wee spark of absurdist genius

Ringwalks don't delay fights, nor they affect anything that happens in the ring, thus I'm fine with them.

Especially if the fighter is an over the top type of a figure, such as Fury or Hamed, it can even up the hype. Camacho entered the ring being a gladiator, Jorge Paez came into the ring wearing monk's robe when he faced Manfredy etc.

Roy literally self-interrupting to say hello back to people that are saying hello to him. How many of guys like Tank the Wank, Deontay "Take a Ring Walk On the Wilder Side" Wilder, Eternal Boy Floyd etc will manage that in a few years. Roy did some stupid things {cock fights etc} but it's obvious he has a "country charm" aspect to him that a lot of these people don't. Fans make the fight game and fighters forget that at their peril.

They do but they shouldn't. If the fight is scheduled for 10pm local time, then ringwalks need to start at 9.30, or 9.00 so Wilder can get his breath after.

Over here we were told 0400h for the fight. It was 0500h before anything got going. In fact it was so fucking late I'd have been as well off just going to bed at a "normal" hour and getting up "early".

I could have and should have started my day with the main event. The UC was utter spam.

Poor Ingle. Things went bad for him in the end. Still, at least he's no fatter than Naz is today.
