Not doing him any good. He is past it and will be remembered historically at middleweight like Marvin Hagler is for losing the big one. Abel Sanchez was clueless in the corner in those two fights with Alvarez.

Was a big fan of ggg in the beginning, bit it's rather obvious that the guy has no desire to proves himself. Hes happy to rest on the laurels that were put at his feet much too early

First one for GGG 8 - 4, second for Alvarez 7 - 5 first one Gennady didn't go to the body and second one he ran. Was not told what and how to do anything in the corner because his trainer does not know how to show a fighter anything other than walk straight n and knock the shit out of the other guy, and he's the best at that but that is just part of the art, not the full art. He did the same thing with Gassiev against Usyk - told him nothing. That's what happens when you hire a guy with Zero fights himself. Sanchez is not near a complete trainer - he is an offensive trainer, he should be part of a team, not THE team.

Hagler won the big one vs Hearns. He might be remembered for losing A big one but not BOTH big ones.

That was a middleweight versus a natural welterweight. Of course he was going to win and I bet heavily on him by knockout it was a no-brainer.

Did you make a nice profit by correctly picking Dennis Andries and Virgil Hill over Hearns as well?

Hearns a natural welterweight? Then I guess Roy Jones was a natural middleweight.

I met Yao Ming once. That guy should have been a point guard. Too short to even play PF, let alone Center.

He's all upper body - has a pair of pencils for legs, like Deontay Wilder whose legs failed him first time he took a good rap on the chin, like Hearns. Hearns started off as a Lightweight in the amateurs, losing to Howard Davis Jr. He built up his upper body but not his legs - Kronk fighters were notorious for this. I was security at Caesar's for the Hearns vs. Virgil Hill fight, and if you think his legs looked thin on television, in person they were even worse. They couldn't hold his upper body up when he got really nailed, yes he was a natural welterweight.

GGG has fought a lot of top guys at 160:

    Canelo
    Jacobs
    Sergiy
    Lemiux

Still, he's found some real shit too:

    Rolls
    Wade
    Rubio

These guys never did shit at 160

I remember that... Virgil Hill scored like 15 knockdowns in that fight all because Hearns was like a delicate flamingo

Lemieux's Never Been a "Top" Guy @ '60 in REED's Opinion and While Derevyanchenko Might NOW Be Considered One, he Wasn't Prior to Facing GGG...

Kell Brook was Undersized, as was Martirosyan...Monroe Jr...

For a Stretch of Time, GGG Was PROBABLY the Best Fighter in the World Pound for Pound; Shame He Lacked Any Sense of Real URGENCY In his Career...

Whoever is tagging behind me following me around like a little puppy dog- parroting me here - you're on ignore and you are not coming back so it doesn't do you any good to respond to my posts. Any issues anyone has with a fighter's weight - you need to take that up with them, but you won't.

Derev had already fought Jacobs close. He was a known quantity going in. But yeah. There's tons of pure shyte on GGG's resume. GGG and Andrade need to fight already.

In a way you can understand GGG. If you make a crapload of money by fighting cans, who wouldn't.

That means though that he can't be considered a great fighter by any means despite his abilities. It seems his ambition ran out in his marathon-like amateur career

That is pretty good. He was a great puncher who went as far as he could with the level of trainer he had. Had he moved up to an elite level fella like a Ronnie Shields or Freddie Roach for instance, he had the potential to be one of the all time greats, he just made the wrong choice in trainers. Had he done that -- he would have been a 25 - 30 percent better all around fighter and would have never lost or even had a close fight. He will get into the IBHOF first ballot - but that place has become a joke without any credibility.

If he actually can make millions fighting cans he picked the right time to do it as he's slipped considerably. When he was more ambitious very few guys wanted to fight him. Even if he was able to take on everybody available his resume still wouldn't have been at all time great level. The middleweight division has been pretty thin overall for quite some time.

I think he was a great fighter at one time, should have been moved up. Again; it was his trainer that hindered his development as the guy is not world class, strictly offense punching at a stationary target. I think you can put Gennady up there with Tony Zale and Rocky Graziano all time.

It is true he was avoided a lot but he never tried to search for new challenges either from 168 lbs for example. It was a pretty empty division too but it would have shown some ambition.

You can't really fault a guy for not fighting outside his division, but the greats have usually taken risks they didn't have to
