What the hell fight are you talking about? I liked Roger a lot, met him at The Gold Coast in 1989 night of Leonard - Hearns II. It was soon after his second loss to Chavez and he was in high spirits and assured me he would be back. A little known fact about him is that he and Jeff Fenech engaged in a war at the Top Rank Gym in Vegas a short time after that.

His fight with Harold Brazier was really good. That foulfest against Vinny Pazienza was pretty good too.

Also on both ends of some highlight reel KOs, against Sammy Serrano and Rocky Lockridge.

    RIP.

I loved watching Roger fight. He had that combination of skill, exciting style, and vulnerability that kept you watching till the end.

I hated him for derailing Serrano's comeback phase, but then Sammy was a boring boxer and not a HOF legend like Benitez, Gomez or Trinidad.

Brazier was a tough guy... a gatekeeper when that really meant something... just good enough to lose against the best ... if you could beat him, you were a contender ... if not, you were a pretender

God yeah... those fights with Arguello... the first fight, his mouth was almost literally torn from his face ... the second one, 99.9% of fighters would’ve been gone after about 4 rounds and he wasn’t done until he crashed face first into the ring post in the 13th ... crazy tough
