He was jumping around way too much. Pretty much impossible to generate power fighting this way

Gerald will have these fights. I might. Kiwanuka (and Paz) (and Tate) were all pretty regular on USA Network's Tuesday Night Fights and I think all of these fights were on it.

I felt sorry for Bobick. Basically had the weight of the world on his shoulders all cos he beat Stevenson once in the amateurs. Never had it as a pro fighter and should have quit after the Olympic debacle.

Sad shit. Bodell went the same way as Ali in the end. Died of dementia.

Nice photos of Ali's visit to Bodells Fish and Chip shop 37 years ago.

Yeah. PBF always did well against 5'5" and below.

Lol, not even close to the best performance of PBF career. He showed a ton of flaws against a small rather average fighter. Really showed that PBF was susceptible to swarmers (as the castillo and Maidana fights further proved)

Given the quality of opponent, the Corrales performance will always stand out.

Corrales had no gas in the tank. I don't take away what Floyd did, and I was a minority who picked Floyd to win late, but Corrales really had nothing at 130 and couldn't get his jab joing. In fact he had no jab......a guy like him should have been hell for Floyd.

Why was he still fighting at 130 three years and a jail sentence later?

I don't know. Why was David Haye still at 200 after the Carl Thompson fight proved he could make 200lbs and have about 4 rounds of gas in the tank.

Thompson was gutty enough to drag the dog out of a drained Haye, the same way Floyd was good enough to drag the loss out of a drained Corrales.

Anybody else and Corrales, like the Garcia fight, probably manages to land enough bombs to stay in the fight and establish a chance of winning.

I find the weight thing a lame excuse when the guy was still making it 3 years later ... he got the shit beat out of him by a great fighter

I think Corrales does marginally better if the fight was at 135 and while he’s always dangerous, Floyd was just too quick and he almost always gets there first.

That fight and the N’Dou massacre are Floyd’s magnum opuses.

N'Dou was poor though compared to a lot of that class.

Whisper it quietly...a lot of the fighters that come out of Africa aren't all that great.

Azumah Nelson is basically the best of them, he's A class, then it tails off pretty sharply. Lot of B and B+ guys but Nelson, dass dey one.

Hell, Phillip wasn't even the best guy in his own family :Jest:
