Were phillip and lovemore related? I didn't think so. Anyway, i do find it weird pbf's win over n'dou is so admired.
I don't know if they were or weren't. They had the same name and were South Africans so I just decided they were/are.
N'dou's only loss before Floyd was to Anthony Campbell, a journeyman from Shepherd's Bush who'd lost more than he won.
Yeah forgot about him. 2. Dass dey 2. Even then when I think of him it's being iced by Foster. Of course he went back to Africa and I think he fought for Biafra before cancer killed him.
Eugene Hart vs Vito Antuofermo Poor quality but read about this while reviewing a lot of the old MW's/WW's from that Dick Tiger era, guys like Tiger Jones, Kitten Hayward, Al Andrews
I don't want to do a Ramonza on it but you look at guys like Hart and you have to wonder if he couldn't have made serious noise when guys like Tito were being guided into MW title shots. I mean Winky fought Taylor to a draw for the title.
Hart had some of the same problems as Shavers... stamina was an issue and chin wasn’t the greatest... he hit like a motherfucker though
Had forgotten about their pair of bouts. Chalk and Cheese both bouts. If you saw only one fight you'd never have believed the other guy would have won the alternate bout. England seems to specialize in eminently hittable southpaws.
Everyone knows his fights with Gonzalez, but Carbajal has a lot of good fights. His title winning effort against Kimichen was good as were his fights with Salazar and Chong.
I saw this it was on Friday Night Fights hosted by Don Dunphy on Channel 39 in Houston. I think the purpose was to crown a United States Champion in a couple of divisions. Hart had beaten the favored Olympic Gold Medalist southpaw Sugar Ray Seales in the first fight, beat hell out of him and dumped him with a deep dish beauyy of a left hook. This was the first time I saw Vito, though I had read quite a bit about him and I thought Hart would murder the guy going in and I was shocked when I saw this fight. Hart didn't run, he only worked out in the gym and was a party animal . The Main Event was the then Eddie Gregory beating the then Matt Franklin in a Light Heavyweight showdown. Matt was a cautious boxer then and dropped Eddie early but Eddie was given a points win. This fight was historic as Matt changed his style afterwards to a go for broke fight to the death boxer/slugger.
No, more like saying that Philip and Lovemore Ndou aren't exactly relevant enough to actually RESEARCH! But no, looks like they aren't related.
Yes, very true. The first fight was quite one-sided. It's unusual that a guy with a record as bad as Saunders wins a British title, unless it's at the really low weights like flyweight where there aren't many contenders around.
Saw that on NBC's Sportsworld live on a Sunday morning LA time. Weston started off looking like he was gonna box Cuevas' ears off and then a thundering right hand from Pipino sent Harold flying into the ring post. He stood in the pocket and traded with Pipino in a terrific action fight. Weston was very similar to Hedgemon Lewis whom he drew with - brilliant boxer without any serious power .
