Hamed is the MUCH MUCH better of the two, but I can't help but feel Gatti might be too big.

But then again, if it's the 95-97 Hamed, he's probably too fast and dynamic for the size difference to the deciding factor.

I'll take peak Hamed by stoppage. Gatti was trash.

Gatti was bigger but he wasn't cutting heavy when he fought Patterson around that time frame. Too easy to hit and would get busted up

    Hamed was too small

Gatti is way too big for naz, and naz is not defensively good enough to compensate for it

At 130, I still would bet the farm on Hamed to knock Gatti out

I think Gatti's just too big.

Hamed was a small featherweight. I know this concept escapes some, but just saying.

Gatti wasn't huge. Mayweather made him look small.

The Hamed that destroyed Steve Robinson and Tom Johnson was good enough to overcome Gatti's size advantage. The gap is big enough.

If you had someone like Corrales, I'd say Hamed gets smoked.

    But Gatti was garbage.

I hate Gatti as much as anyone, but he wasn't garbage

You mean that Hamed that beat sub-par competition was the best version of Hamed? And if he could do it to Tom Johnson he could do it to Gatti? Sorry. "Hamed made weak competition look weak and Gatti is garbage," is not a convincing argument.

Gatti was not very good... he had to be extremely carefully managed to the belts he did win and even then it was life and death most fights

he’s so hittable and the gulf in physical talent is vast ... make it 126 Hamed vs 130 Gatti and I think Hamed still knocks him out at some point

Can't sign on with this. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

I hope you realize that Hamed's resume of wins taking a steaming hot shit on Gatti's.

Steve Robinson was actually a better fighter than Ivan Robinson, for example.

    Gatti was a stiff.

Size difference would be comical, and hamed was far from a virtuoso like pbf or dlh. He would get hit by gatti, and i don't think he would handle it very well.

Augie sanchez was landing and hurting hamed, i i just cant see him surviving 12 rounds against gatti considering the size difference

What about his win against dorin and leija (he had a lot less trouble against him than zoo). Gatti was far from a.worldbeater, but he wasn't the total bum some claim he was. After being overrated much of his career, the pendulum has swung way too much on the other side.

It's a crime Gatti and Hatton never fought.

Hatton would have beat the ever living shit outta Gatti. It'd be a dream matchup for Ricky.

Gatti vs Rios is more Gatti's level. That's a matchup that can be debated.

Hatton was a level above Gatti.

God damn that would have been a fun fight. WOuld have like to see Gatti provodnikov and gatti mathysse also

I think both those guys in their primes stop Gatti. Especially Provo, who was willing to walk through bombs to get inside. If he could force Bradley into a war, it wouldn't be difficult to do so to Gatti.

Gatti has a good chance against Rios, who was the weakest link outta those guys.

I could see gatti doing a mathysse on providnikov, but im not sure he has the discipline to do so

  27. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

    Doubt it.

Matthysse was a much bigger puncher than Gatti.

I think Provo could handle Gatti's power, and hit him a lot.

you are forgetting one thing. gatti is from canadia. hence the above canuck cucks inflated opinion of him

I'm trying to be objective. I think Gatti could have beat Rios IF he could stay disciplined. If he went to war, Bam Bam would have the edge.

He gets beat up Provo, Matthysse, and Maidana.

Hatton gives him a terrible beating considering even a washed up Tszyu is leagues better than the best version of Gatti.

Guys let me put this in its proper perspective: Gatti couldn't even beat Ivan Robinson twice. He got stopped by Angel Manfredy, Alfonso Gomez and punching bag Carlos Baldomir. Come on.
