Gomez vs. Lockridge a horrible decision

Can't believe they gave that decision to Gomez. It was a horrible performance from him and Lockridge kicked his ass. Hadn't watched this fight before.

Gomez was completely shot after the Nelson fight. You can hardly hold that fight against him.

Nelson gave him a terrible beating, and before that he won a brutal war against Pintor. He was hardly the Gomez of old anymore.

Not holding it against him. I'm saying he didn't come close to winning it.

It was a bad robbery. Lockridge clearly won.

A number of guys would beat Gomez at 126-130.

I don't think anybody at 122 could have beaten. He was as dominant at that weight as any fighter was at single weight.

Unrelated to the Lockridge fight, but here's Gomez at his peak. Before he fell in love with his power.

What a beautiful boxer-puncher he was. Brilliant offensive footwork.

Bazooka was shot he showed a lot of guts but Rocky beat his ass. I was at the Pintor fight and it was the most brutal I have ever seen in person. You could hear the shots they were hitting one another with in the mezzanine. The Hearns - Benitez bore fest saw a lot of folks start to leave about midway through. A lot of people also thought Rocky beat Chavez as well, and Pedroza.

Imagine he had gotten all of these decisions. He would be considered an ATG. Incredible how much the judges influences even the hardcore fans

Even now he is underrated because of those "losses."

It goes both way. A guy like Eubanks is insanely overrated cause his record is good, yet, if all the gift he got were actually losses, he would simply be regarded as a decent euro level fighter

The logical response is to not dismiss fighters based on losses without taking into account the nature of the losses.

The other thing is, certain fighters I think get shoe-horned as "gate-keepers" to the point they can never win a close decision. So it's not necessarily fair to say: "everytime he stepped up, he lost."

He cleaned Roger Mayweather's clock in a big upset as Rog was an up and comer hot off of ESPN main events and a knockout over Serrano. I won a bet on that one but I didn't expect it quick I thought Lockridge would break him down with body punches and stop him late. I thought he'd get under and inside of Mayweather's best punches but if you blinked, you missed it that big overhand right over that low jab and lights out.

Holyfield - Tyson 1. I got Evander at +600, cashed in a Bond and a CD for that one. You have to declare the winnings on your Income Tax though if you lay it at a Casino.

Anybody that thinks Lockridge beat Chavez is a fucking moron

Pedroza, an argument could be made

But Chavez? That might be a 7-5 loss if you’re sleeping with Lockridge
