See? Bill knows the fuckin score and answers honestly. Doesn't need to list something by one of maybe five artists who were active in a 10-year period when he first discovered music aged 25.
A song tae drive too... the above one wid be a good choice. Ah have tae avoid listening tae Appetite fer Destruction because Ah get a bad case o' lead foot. Both times Ah copped speeding tickets wiz thanks tae GnR. Ma choice, 'Poor Leno' ba Röyksopp.
Ah thought o’ that one an’ all but chose Brownstone because Ah had ma auld GnR tape on perma-roll. Got intae them in ‘89, 2 years aftae they first album wiz released. Loved ‘Lies’ and then wiz no’ really interested in they later stuff, no’ strictly true as Ah liked a few o’ they later songs e.g. You Could Be Mine.
All I think of this old Sten show bit from like 18 years ago when I used to listen while I did masonry
Day 09: "Reminiscing" -The Little River Band I've always liked the song and the video. The video is good enough to forgive them for the creeper/shitshow video they made for "Man On Your Mind" a few years later.
Ah dinnae think Ah’ve listened tae that song befoor, it wiz a well sung little number but the band shouldae told the laddie wi’ the beard, bowl haircut and big glasses tae up his look befoor the shoot!
Day 9: A song that makes me sad... that poor, wee orphan! The lassie who sang the song is Shelly Flint and she went from a sixties pop singer tae a folk singer later on. She’s gottae lovely voice but never quite ‘made it’, as such.
Rhythm guitarist, Graham Gobles. He is/was a goofy looking mofo but he was one of the main songwriters and he was also known for perfect backing vocals along with Beeb Birtles (The Dutchman in the flat cap.) The lead vocalist, Glen Sharock, is an Englishman.
I could have sworn that was Coronado, California when I first saw the video but it was actually filmed in Miami.
Ah love Bush, cheap pun intended. Whit a lovely lassie she wiz, sweet, shy and talented. Who can forget that loony, yet enticing, dancing? Irish: Wearing that green leotard makes her a FILTEE WHORE!
There's a documentary about her on youtube. I started it but never finished. She's got quite a unique story. And after she quit touring very early in her career (only to do a handful of show later in her career after many years) she's managed to live mostly in obscurity even while putting out albums. No social media presence. Instead of a PR agent and manager she formed a board made up of family members and close friends to deal with business with her record company and anything else that came up.
Day Twelve, a song from ma preteen years... hmm, Ah wiz thirteen in '88. Ah wiz tempted tae pick a song from waaaaay back (e.g. Video Killed the Radio Star - Buggles) but Ah'll pick one which wiz MASSIVE at ma school at the time... 'Europe: The Final Countdoon'
A song Ah like from the seventies... there are so many. Ah've got tae pick one so Ah'll go wi' 'Oliver' s Army' ba Elvis Costello and the Attractions:
Day 13: "Lucille" -Kenny Rogers His version came out in 1977. I'm pretty sure he did this song earlier in the 70's with his band The First Edition but I am not sure if they released it.
