I've decided to retire from posting on Fightbeat, effective today. The level of discourse on this forum has simply dropped well below acceptable levels for me, and at this point the forum is overrun by trolls like Mustard and whatever alias Captain Obvious is (see the former...) This isn't a decision made in haste - been considering it for awhile now. Ultimately, I come to this forum to talking about a sport I love, but the level of boxing discussion on Fightbeat is such a far cry from what it was 10-15 years ago, that I just don't see the point anymore. I'm not big on social media, but for anyone who wants to stay in contact, DM me. Or, I can still be found posting regularly on the Classic Section of Eastside's forum. To the posters on here I've always liked/respected, yall know who you are. REED, Whiskey, PR, McDogg, Neil, ect, be easy yall. Double, you're a strange cat sometimes I always enjoyed debating boxing with you . Punk, thanks for keeping this place running for as long as you have. I'll come back one day if this forum returns to close to its glory days, but for now it's a sinking ship. Take care, FB. It's been real.
Sad to see you go. We disagreed a lot about boxing and our favorite fighters were pretty much the opposites of each other but you are a good guy I do admire your passion and vast knowledge of the sport. I know what you mean about the forum. When it is buzzing in boxing, it still is the best place available but in between them it is damn quiet here and I spend more time reading through old topics than participating in the new. Anyways, take care and maybe we'll meet again somewhere

Eastside Boxing must have changed. I checked out their forum the early '00s and it was about 15-20 Nazis waiting on the Klitchko brothers to beat up the next "darkie."
First of all wrong forum, so you’ve got that going for your final thread/post. Secondly I agree with RWTP, what’s the point of quitting a forum that moves so slow you might log on it once a day and at most post 3-4 times a week. I agree that poster quality is down, trolling is up and moderation is nonexistent, but we’re talking only a few minutes a day here. Thirdly so what if boxing and combat sports are dead, don’t we come here to chat, post opinions and debate about all things, not just boxing? Because if boxing was the only thing keeping my interest here I would have done a peace-out thread a long time ago, only difference is I would have done it in the correct forum. You were supposed to train the new guy to do that.. and to turn on his favorites the minute they lose.. not cool. Don't expect a good reference when Eastside comes calling.
That's true. Seems very irresponsible of Punk to be handing out contracts like that. On another note thank God reed still here or we might get sued by black posts matter.
