Yep it's the Stand, which I try to listen to, he contradicts himself every other week.

2 years ago he said "Klopps a fool. He needs a keeper, Everton signed Pickford from Sunderland, Klopp didn't"

I remember Dunphy and Giles during the bad old days , 2005-2010, they couldn't ride Liverpool hard enough.

Now it's all this "Liverpool is a great City, their fans know their stuff" etc.

It's a load of old blarney and you have to take it with just the right amount of salt.

He was right about the keeper, wrong about Pickford.
I must admit, I was concerned when he insisted on playing Karius, he was never up to it and that was clear for all to see. Cost the club a champions league. In and around that time Moreno was also getting a game :/

Overall I like Dunphy and co, more honest than most, which is admirable.

I was surprised to find out (just recently) Dunphy is a Liverpool fan

I don't believe that Aymo is a Liverpool fan, I think that's a load of old contrived flannell. He was on Benitez/Liverpool something hard, I used to rage against it a lot back in the day.

Ronnie Whelan is somebody who is unabashedly :

    A} A Manchester United fan

    B} Retarded.

    From the horses own mouth:

"Whelan’s dream of signing terms with one of England’s biggest clubs finally materialised in 1979 when Bob Paisley offered a fee believed to be around £35,000, but there was a lingering regret that the club he supported as a boy never returned with another offer.

“It hurt me that I didn’t go to Manchester United in the end. It hurt me that they never went back in for me when I was 17 or 18.

“When I was over there training, I was always watching intently at what was going on. I’d see players like Sammy McIlroy, Stuart Pearson, Gordon Hill and Steve Coppell all over the place. That’s where I wanted to be but it doesn’t always happen that way, does it?”

Then he had a falling out at the very end , how Liverpool let him go, he wasn't happy with it, and he's borne that grudge ever since. He had a column in The Herald back in the day {around 2008/2009} and he'd be in there every day bashing Liverpool and Benitez in particular.

I distinctly remember when United were going through that bit of a psychodrama regarding Wayne Rooney and his potential move to Citeh, United had a hard run of games in Europe {those were the days, eh United?} and Whelan was doing commentary for TV and he was practically crying into the mike about how everything was important at United and no player was bigger than the club and Sir Alex didn't take kindly to being blackmailed etc.

Then Rooney signed a new contract and Whelan was all about how he'd never doubted Rooney and how Sir Alex had handled it perfectly well and the fans had always been on board etc etc.

    :Jest: Chap is a joke.

The worst game Gomes has had since he came to Everton. Shocking performance. It looked like he'd been drinking sangria all day.

Norwich gone I think. Very nice touch from Nigel Pearson to embrace Daniel Farke, who looks a beaten man. That look on his face which suggests he knows it's all but over.

Our defense has been solid for all four matches. Very unlucky with the own goal and Leicester scored their goal right before we had our subs ready to come in and park the bus. The offense has no flow. It's the midfield. They can't keep possession. They don't win enough challenges. We have two goal scorers up front that are getting fed scraps.

And Moise Kean? I've already seen enough of that cunt. Every time he comes off the bench he plays like a 10 year-old kid who doesn't want to pass to anyone else.

Liverpool might do it against the big sides but can they do it in Brighton on a pissy Wednesday evening?

    Yes. Yes they can.

back to back 90+ pointers for the first time in my life.

Boring James Milner makes it in at #5 on the all time PL appearances charts.

You could always explain Whelan a bitterness, where as Eamon seemed to have it in for LFC no matter what. To me, it makes sense he was a closet fan

Agreed. A combination of many factors including our youth at the time. Nothing like being young and coming into a huge wave of genuine national passion that had simply not existed before hand....nad has not existed since. It got a bit monied after that. A bit too easy. A bit SKY.

I wasn't surprised when I heard that Jack had passed as I knew he hadn't been well. Another case of dementia from heading the ball for years albeit he was 85 by this stage.

John Giles had tried to tell people about a year ago that "Jack is ALRIGHT" but with dementia every day is another bit more removed from reality.

Just hope it went as well as possible in the end for him, most of the modern care is excellent and they are very good at making these things as easy as possible.

People forget how advanced Jack was in many regards, scouring the planet to get players who qualified for Ireland.

My only regrets are I suppose Euro 1992. We should have been at that. We were better than England in that group. Just let it slip in Poland.

Its hard to really know what's going on with these people, but you can have suspicions, piece things together.

I do know that Sham Allarbong hated Liverpool.

He reminded me of "Dim" in A Clockwork Orange. Happy to be somebody elses pitbull, destined for a job as a barely-contained thug in later life.

His entire gum-chewing, "I embrace modern fitness techniques" , full-time doorman aura.

    Wanker.

Absolutely fucking RAGING after that Liverpool performance. One time a game is live on a channel that I have, they turn in an absolute SHITHOUSE of a performance.

And fuck the referee too. Never a free kick for their goal.
