Obviously Khan's weakness is his chin but Hatton wasn't a power puncher. He threw 80 punches per round and accumulated damage. Khan's handspeed could possibly neutralize Hatton's aggression.

I think Hatton would get hit a lot but rarely rattled and walk down Khan over and over with his work rate.

    I say Hatton wins 116-112.

The 04-05 Hatton would destroy Khan. No decision here, the Con Man isn't going the distance.

Not that Hatton was Julian Jackson as a puncher, but you didn't need to be a Jackson-like puncher to stop Khan and his pitiful chin.

Ricky hit more than hard enough and fast enough to flatten the baby deer, and his offensive footwork was good enough to very quickly close the distance on Khan.

I can't envision Khan having a chance, to be honest.

Hatton bends him over and leave his moon black n blue. Khan is clueless at close range and would get thoroughly bullied & mauled, i doubt it goes 6.

Did you two pick Khan over Maidana?

Khan vs Maidana was classic Khan. Capable of looking a Worldly Talent in small doses and then doing his best to lose.

It's his best win by a country mile, but it might belong in Xplosives "One More Round And He Loses" category.

    Hatton messes him up, badly.

The Hatton that beat Tszyu vs the Khan that beat Kotelnik.........Hatton might get cut, have to get off the mat, but when the end comes it's bad for Khan. Might be the first time in Khans career he takes a fully conscious 10 count.

Not so sure Hatton wins, and especially not in a rout

Khan looks fine until the rout begins. That's the major issue with Khan, once things started to unravel a bit he rarely could stem the damage. Hatton would find something to get Khan scrabbling a bit and then he'd just pour it on. Khans ears would be coming off his head. Petersen had no power and Khan was all banged up. Tsyzus face was purple for days after the Hatton beating, and you can't make a guys face go purple by hugging him over 12 rounds.

Best photo I could find of him. And it wasn't a gruelling 12 rounds more like 8 or 7. His ears were like raw steaks.

How is Khan gonna beat Hatton? How???

You all know I don't hold the highest opinion of Hatton, but a fragile dope like Khan is made in Heaven for Ricky.

Khan might shine against some slow footed guys, but Hatton would close the distance on him before Khan could setup.

If Hatton could give a physically peak Floyd a tough fight for 5 rounds (because of his footspeed) then he's gonna have ZERO trouble closing the gap on Khan.

Also Mayweather was able to make adjustments while boxbot 5000 doesn't have the ability to think and adapt.

    Exactly.

Khan is TERRIBLE against pressure. It's no coincidence that his two best performances (Paulie, and Judah) came against two guys who stood on the outside and tried to box him.

Zab was too washed up to close the distance, and Paulie is completely ineffective coming forward.

I consider Paulie as Khan's best performance, and Hatton actually outdid that performance and beat Paulie more impressively than Khan did. Mind you, Paulie was younger and sharper when he fought Hatton, and Hatton was past his prime by then.

Maidana was a pressure monster, and Khan was able to withstand it and takes a well deserved ud. Sure, hatton was faster on his feet than Maidana, but he doesn't have the chin to walk through everything Khan would throw at him. Gun to my head, id pick Hatton, but as i said, this is a closer fight than most seems to think

Hatton gave Paulie such a beating that he told everyone Khan had done a better job out of he and Hatton.

Hatton roughs Khan up and stops him in the mid to late rounds.

Ricky had very quick feet to close the distance, and Khan would be in trouble once that happens. Khan would get flustered and ultimately take a hammering to the body

We saw how well Khan did against winging left hooks and it didn't go too well

Ricky destroys him. Y'know how good a style match up this is for him? You've given him the best style match up he could ask for, against a guy who has the ring IQ of a fish, and the chin of twelve year old girl. Both were very overrated by us Brits, as neither were ATGs but Ricky (yes, that's how it's spelt) was much better than Amir Khan't.

    Well said.

Hatton was pretty flawed and limited, but he would look like 70s Duran against Trash Khan.

What George Crowcroft said. Hatton would have beaten the fucking shit out of Khan. It's the worst possible style matchup for Amir. That, and the fact that Ricky was much, much better than Amir, equals a massacre.

This would be a great one to see!

My thoughts: I believe Hatton started to become underrated based off of two fights.. Floyd and Pac.
Outside of those, Hatton fought very well

Khan showed glimpses of great boxing but only in small amounts and his chin always let him down. I feel like Kahn looks stunned in EVERY fight even when he wins. I think Hattons pressure would get to him and he would break him down and stop him. Kahn is not disciplined enough to box and avoid for the whole fight.

Khan is ridiculous.. I wish I remember what fight it was, one of the ones that he was KNOCKED OUT in and afterwards he bizarrely goes on about "I was putting on a MASTA CLASS in boxing" (until he was STRETCHED I guess?)

I like Hatton in this fight
