Haven't followed much football news recently for obvious reasons. Looked online earlier and saw Bayern played a friendly against Marseille today. It's got to be a bit strange playing a meaningless friendly only to have CL football in about another week. Then a few weeks later presumably play a few friendlies and right back to a new season.

I also wonder what will happen if somebody like Ronaldo contracted covid. Would they just scrap CL altogether?

There's an obvious conflict of interest.

The PL sells stuff to the Qataris. The Qataris and Saudis are pissing up each others legs.

English Football has become a proxy war {like Spain did in 1936} for vying Arab interests.


The PL finds itself in the middle and makes a decision based on......amazingly, money, and pre-existing relationships centered around.......money.

The only consolation in this is that the Saudi's and the Qataris are both........shites.

So a smaller shite with some leverage has stopped a bigger shite with.......less leverage.....from doing what it wants.

It's all very disheartening.

I can't see why anybody thinks a monied-up Newcastle is such a bad thing. If you have one rival for the title you have 20 and if you have 20 it usually come down to 1.

Moneybags NUFC won't make a shit of difference to who wins the title unless they go and win it themselves........if Liverpool are being chased down by Citeh, Chelsea and a Jadon-Sanchoed United does the emergence of Newcastle really make all that much difference?
