The brick wall is a FA and could sign with top rank, meaning this fight is easily made Win or lose vs lomachenko, I dont see that particular outcome making a difference in this matchup. Aside from perhaps lomachenko beating lopez down/stopping him Who wins?
Depends on whether that fight with Taylor took much out of Regis. He seemed very worn down towards the end, Taylors facial damage regardless.
what is this tendency to assume that a boxer will (might) be past it just because he lost and absorbed a few punches? No way that the Taylor fights took anything out of Prograis, it wasn't nearly brutal enough for that
I think Fimo is very, very talented, but I also don't think we're looking at the second coming of Ray Leonard or Roy Jones here. In other words, I see him having holes. Holes a guy like Prograis can expose at the moment. Will Lopez peak higher than Prograis? Most likely.
I don't think many guys today are really good boxers, not even Arguello good, in the case of TL. I see a lot of strong boys with good management and plenty of game when it comes to bowling over lesser men.
The high-end guys are really good (Loma, Crawford, Inoue, Spence). How they would fare against historical greats is another story. Canelo is a good, skilled fighter, but the problem is a lot his career has been fabricated. In regards to Arguello, there's definitely not an offensive machine like Arguello around at the moment. The closest was Arguello's protégée, Chocolatito.
Closest guy I can see that even comes close to replicating Arguellos talents is........... Wilder. I don't know anybody today that's even remotely able to effortlessly fire a long laser-straight right hand off the shoulder, right down the middle, that lands and has consequences. That we've got to find an anorexic heavyweight before we get anybody who even comes close is laughable, to me. Lots of guys like Canelo etc can load up and break a guys face. But it's all fucking sweaty squat muscular stuff. It's all "NUFF! NUFF !!! NUFF NUFF!!!" There's no languid skinny killer out there that can just crush a guy with an effortless straight bomb. Fury has great defensive moves and is a legitimately clever boxer with a good radar but his offensive talents usually involve clouting people much lighter than him, and after he's blinded them with a flailing glove. I'd like to think Prograis can beat Lopez but I think he's going to get ground down very late on by the stronger man.
