Anyone watching tomorrow? Im an expecting an all action affair though Whyte should have too much for a ringworn 40 year old if there's anything to him
It's been rescheduled? I had no idea. If it is happening, I got Whyte. Povetkin is shopworn, easily hurt and without his roids not too dangerous
Aye its on tomorrow, rescheduled from may. If Whyte takes longer than AJ did to stop Povetkin he'll surely be disappointed
Precisely my attitude. Whyte is shit and like a lot of black British heavies think's he's the biz, but he's not. If he loses this he's done. Dude went life and death with a fucking dead Chisora, twice. He'd also get sparked by Wilder. Whyte stoppage.
Nice pace through 2 rounds though nothing remotedly dramatic has happened. Povetkin is a weird guy. His offensive technique is excellent but he can't slip any jab ever
Inevitably Whyte scored a KD in the 4th. Povetkin keeps doing nice moves, but without roids his punches have nothing in them, and late in the round he goes down again
BOOM! That wasn't Glass-Jaw....if Tyson did that, people would wax lyrical. Jab, step, uppercut, LIGHTS OUT. Dillian White spent 1000 days as the WBC #1 contender only to get fucking SPARKED.
Beautiful move by Povetkin. Faked a body shot with his left but turned it into an uppercut at the last moment and caught the point of Whyte's chin. Povetkin is easy meat for Fury or Wilder but nice to see him get one more good win
It's odd........Whyte didn't do a damn thing wrong all night. He boxed, went to the body, scored his knockdowns, didn't rush in. He simply got taken out by a very good bit of boxing.
Remember when people tried to defend Joshua for his performance against Whyte on the basis that Whyte 'might turn out to be really good'? He wasn't or isn't, or never will be. He's shite. Cracking punch, mind. MTF
That's just it. Whyte didn't get caught charging in like he did vs Curious Joe Parker, nor did he get winded by a bigger man like versus Joshua........he simply got lined up by a guy with 2 Olympic Golds.
And the irony is Whyte was boxing within himself. Being very proper. No stupid wild swings. Nice bodywork. Good jabs. Hands up. So often in boxing when a man retreats to the ropes he's creating danger for himself that one split second.......and Povetkin found it.
Watching him tonight I saw more of what I'd always seen in him....a prosaic competent compact guy who seemed to blow out his arse very soon in a fight and whose defence was a "tight guard" and whose offense was a bit agricultural......pressure and heavy-handed rather than explosive and damaging. We're talking about a guy who allowed glorified Cruiserweight streetfighter Marco Huck to drag him into a war, albeit a filthy war. Never ever had him down as a 1 hitter quitter or an off-the-mat KO artist.
The problem is that a bloke who can't really box was trying to box a bloke who can. If Whyte had gone hell for leather, he probably wins in the 4th. MTF
Povetkins always been a bit underpowered and hittable. 6'6" bangers with a reach like Liston should be getting rid of him That fight went the way I felt it would.....compact left hooker had his moments until the bigger man found openings.
That's just it. Instead he decided to do things "Properly"......retreating to the ropes is not his thing.
the BBC is in shock. Dillian Whyte. The man who forever will be known as the guy who got KTFO by some Russian in Eddie Hearns back garden. Tell that to the kids in Brixton ya fucking bum.
Oh is shocked Eddie in the ring now? I bet that's the first time he's looked and felt a right cunt in his own garden, at least since he found AJ showing his missus a good time in the pool.
