He just doesn't bring it when the pressure is really on. From the outset. Dude is in shape to play the amount of minutes he does and expend the type of energy he does with the ball in his hands offensively

 

Dude look at how Harden’s gut is pushing against his jersey. Watch how he stands near half court when he doesn’t have the ball, how he refuses to cut to the basket when he doesn’t have the ball. Watch how he usually plays a gimmick brand of defense making it look like he’s trying to swipe at the ball but isn’t really putting forth real effort. I admit that’s not all about conditioning, a lot of it is just laziness and a lack of pride.

i watched him in the mcdonalds game or some other high school all star game and it was clear he can shoot. that was further reinforced at kentucky and even seeing him in summer league with miami. what wasnt clear was the speed he has off the dribble, the ball handling, passing, rebounding and basketball IQ displayed in the postseason.

He says that in the draft Herro was selected in, Miami and the Celtics tied on a draft pick that went to Miami on a coin flip. Scal says he never heard a peep during Celtics drafts but that day the moment it was released that Miami -who picked one spot ahead of the Celtics- had chosen Herro Scal says he heard all kinds of screaming and cursing in the Celtics boardroom. Apparently the Celtics just missed out on one of the guy’s who’s been handing them their ass.

Dubious officiating to say the least. I’m not sure the Lakers even win that second to last game without the obvious help they got from the referees and it was obvious in real time. Celts finally playing the defense I thought they should which is let Iguodala beat you. I don’t know why they were playing him so tight on the three point line, usually when he shoots that’s a win for the Celts. He’s made 2 threes so far in this game and I literally said wow both times.

I felt since the last game that the Celtics are going to pull out this series and especially so if Miami doesn’t win today because if this goes another game the refs are taking the floor in Celtic jerseys. Nothing the NBA likes better than a Lakers-Celtics final.

Doc Rivers let go. His players let him down, that wasn’t completely a coaching issue that caused their elimination, at least not from an X’s & O’s perspective. I heard some of the players felt PG was getting undeserved preferential treatment, so if anything it sounds like a lack of culture. To be honest though their stars just didn’t show up which was shocking in Kawai’s case but the consistent norm in George’s.

On the other hand, Doc couldn’t come up with a defensive plan to stop one guy from completely destroying them. So although it’s always the stars who get credit for winning and occasionally losing the big games, it’s usually the coach who actually gets punished.
