We havent done this for a few months. :Jest:@128lb just to be awkward. Gives Arguello a bit more belt room to breath into & Sanchez is big enough to carry it. 15 rounds.

Im gonna go with a DRAW in a fight worthy of rewatching 200 times.

I think Arguello beats Sanchez even at 126.

Even though Sal was more multidimensional, that one Arguello dimension was a helluva dimension.

Sal would be in with a guy who could match him for stamina, and I just see Arguello's firepower and body punchimg taking its toll late.

You could frame it the other way tho- Arguello's facing a guy who can not only match his stamina but also has the durability and defence to stave off his late surge. Gun to head i can see Sanchez' understated lateral movement & slipperiness carrying 8+ rounds

It's arguable for sure. A great case could be made for either guy winning.

For what it's worth, Ruben Castillo - who lost to both - felt Arguello was much better.

That doesn't necessarily impact who would win, but I guess it's worth noting.

I think Arguello was a notch above Sanchez. He wins a in a good one

When Sanchez called out Arguello, Alexis merely shook his head and questioned if Sal was delusional.

Castillo also lost to Chavez. Would be nice to hear his take on all three.

I'm guessing he was probably asked the question in the content of a Sanchez-Arguello match up - since it very well might have happened had Sal not died.

I don't recall what he said about Chavez, but he was well past it when he fought Chavez.

He was in his prime when he lost to Arguello and Sanchez. And in his mind, at least, Arguello was a level above Sal.

REED Doesn't Think Sanchez's Style Would've Translated to Higher Weights as Well as Arguello's Did, but he's Always LIKED Sanchez Head to Head @ '26...

Despite Arguello's Length and Power, Sanchez Would've Beaten Him to the Punch Most of the Night and Fended Off a Late Rounds Rally...

I can see this. Arguello was a bigger framed guy than Sal - he had the build to comfortably carry 130 and 135. Even at 140, he looked filled out and solid against Rooney.

Sal was a smaller guy than Arguello, and wouldn't have moved up as successfully.
