Weird. I'm not particularly interested in this. I feel like Lopez should stay at 135 and the winner of Ramirez/Taylor should move up and face Crawford (since Crawford apparebtly will not fight any of the current top welters).
Lopez ain't no 135lbr he looked like Danny Garcia in there last night in terms of his build. I can't get past the facial damage suffered by Taylor in the RP fight. But Taylor would fight him from round 1, not round 6.
Both are true. Taylor would press Lopez from the jump, but in return Fimo's counters may destroy Josh's face.
If Taylor fights Lopez then two of the biggest dicks in the World will be in attendance. Shane Dick McGuigan and Teofimo Dick Lopoez Sr.
If Taylor is still in it after 6 rounds then I think he might well take over. Lopez doesn't look like he has a great gas tank and lets face it.......there was nothing going down for the first 6 rounds that warranted any slackening of the pace for the next 6. It's just one of those fights that you would pay to watch the first round before making a call.
I suppose we won't have a better idea until after Taylor-Ramirez. Maybe we're writing Ramirez off too soon. Maybe he gives Josh Hell. Or maybe Taylor pounds him. We'll have to see.
After the fight, Lopez named a lot of guys. Was Taylor one of them? By the way, imagine Prograis vs. Lopez? Would be an amazing fight.
Taylor Has a LomaESQUE Way about Him, Offensively, in a Bigger, Looooonger Body... They're Night and Day Defensively, However... Remains to Be Seen if Teofimo CARRIES His Power to '40, But if he Does he BEATS Josh Taylor, in REED's Opinion...Excellent Fight Though... It'll Be Loma-Lopez Rounds 8-11, Only EARLIER...Taylor's More Naturally COMBATIVE Than Loma, But Teofimo's More Athletic, Explosive and QUICKER to the Punch than Prograis... But Taylor Wouldn't Be Hard for Teofimo to FIND, Which Would Prove to Be His Undoing... REED
Nah, he Should Go STRAIGHT To the Undisputed Champion @ '40... Maybe Sneak In a Defense of the Undisputed '35 Title, to Stay Busy, Then Call Out the Taylor-Ramirez Winner...Sit Ringside for their Fight, Get in the Ring Afterwards, All of That... When is Taylor-Ramirez Rumored to Take Place? REED
Agreed. And the guy has to get past Ramirez first. Not saying he won't, I fully expect him to, but we've seen much bigger upsets. Ramirez can't be 100% counted out.
Ramirez is GAME, But Taylor's just a Higher Caliber Fighter in REED's Opinion... REED's Smelling a Lively, High Contact Affair Won By Taylor 9-3, 8-4ish... REED
I'm seeing the same, just stating that Taylor isn't invisible enough to call it a foregone conclusion. I wouldn't be shocked to see Taylor stop him though. Ramirez's defense is horrible.
Next 3 years lets see lopez beat: taylor, prograis, pacquaio, mikey garcia, Crawford, spence, ortiz, ennis. Wheres he rank all time if he went on that run then retired?
Its so far-fetched to even imagine . Look, he doesn't even have to go through all that to be a great. If Taylor impressively beats Ramirez to become undisputed, then Fimo beats Taylor impressively, then Fimo is already a great. That would make him the undisputed champion at two weight classes, and winning that distinction from two excellent fighters. Then let's say in a wild scenario, Lopez moves up and catches an aging Bud at 147 to win another belt there. At that point, we're looking at an ATG
I'm just glad that that the future of boxing looks super bright, and we're getting rid of these old men. We got Lopez who's now a level above the rest of the young guys. We got Shakur, and Haney who are quality...maybe Kingry will be decent (definitely not great). On top of that, Taylor is still relatively young and has several more years of prime left. Then at 147 we got Ennis and Ortiz, both of whom have star potential. At 154, maybe Charles Conwell becomes a star. At the higher divisions, we have the very real possibility that Berlanga will clean out 168 within a few years. I predict Berlanga will be ready to smoke crackhead Benavidez by 2022.
And we got the mandatory gigantic threatening Asiatic/Chechen doorman type thing going on at 240lbs too.
I want to see Errol Spence fight Lopez like Ray Leonard fought Duran the first time..........147 Champ vs 135 Champ, toe to toe.
Taylor has 3 inches on Loma, besides being bigger and having much better power. The Loma outcome says nothing about a Lopez/Taylor outcome.
By the Time Teofimo's Ready for Welter, Spence Will Have Moved Up and Pacquiao Retired....The Rest of Your List Would Be EPIC Conquests Though... What's CRAZY is a Case COULD Be Made for Teofimo BEATING Them All...An ABSURD Resume... REED
I do get concerned about Fimo's chin sometimes. Seems to me that there's three guys between 130-140 who are dangerous to Lopez: Davis, Taylor, and Prograis. I think Fimo is a safe favorite over Haney and Ryan.
