I'd still feel more comfortable picking Haney over Kingry, but Garcia can't be counted out.

The two of them went 3-3 in the amateurs.

That let's you know there's not some huge separation between them.

With Fimo, we're speculating on how he does with Taylor at 140.

Josh would wipe his Scottish ass with Haney.

To REED, the Separation Will Be Smaller Gloves, No Headgear and Garcia's POWER...

There's Still a LOT Left Unanswered about Ry, but He's Got Quick, POWERFUL Hands if NATHAN Else...

Kingry would have stopped Gamboa, that much I'll say that.

I dont think Ryan is that bad at all. I used to, but he's grown on me.

Will he ever be as good as Oscar or Canelo? Hell no, but thats ok.

I would count out out Kingry against Fimo, but he's live against Tank and Haney.

I think he's gonna batter Campbell, but I'll have to catch it on replay.

Spence-Garcia has 100% of my attention that night.

How is anybody supposed to actually learn anything in that environment????

    That's not a learning environment.

    "Dass wat ahm tawkin bout".

No. You need to shut the fuck up, actually.

I myself scored it for the little fella. I felt his didge didge didge was too much for the bigger mans didge-didge, didge-didge.

No touch gloves at the end, complete hard-man bullshit routine.

You look back on not so distance years when people like Fernando Vargas would spar Pernell Whittaker and be effusive in their recollection of the event, instead of all this fucking hand-bags-at-dawn bullshit you see these days.

The internet has made a duel and a face-saving event out of every interaction, however minor.

I dislike that Haney tries to be such a carbon copy of Floyd in the ring.

I respect guys like Lopez and Ennis for having more originality and creativity to their styles.

Haney wants to be Floyd so bad its sickening.

I know. Same with Broner. It's like they've literally never seen anybody else fight.

Like........Duran, or Ezzard Charles, or.......JC Chavez.

    Where's the variety?

Paul Ingle didn't look at Naz and say "I'll be like that". Instead he tried to be genuine 1000 punches a night kind of guy. Why? Cos that's what he had. Michael Hunter was another British Bum sort of guy who got to within sniffing distance of a title/shot by being a relentless pressure fighter who kept his hands up and applied pressure.

You get guys like Lee Haskins who insisted on being this hand-down, switch-hitter like Naz, a guy who could have done much better off the talents he had if he'd eschewed that hands-down, jack in the box bullshit. First world-class fighter he met figured him out in exactly one round.

Boxing is a simple game. Neil reckons that fundamentals are a crutch for the talentless but if somebody is trying crack your fucking skull then keeping your hands up and your chin down and doing the basics right seems like a good plan to me.

Forget what you saw somebody else do. They are somebody else.

Pete Taylor used to work a gym in Bray in Ireland and he used to always stop sparring and ask a kid "what are you doing" and the kid would say "Oh I just saw so and so try this" and Pete would say "Are you him?"

    Point made.

See.........I had to google "Kingry". I'm thinking "Is there some new Ghanaian guy who has just arrived on the scene".

Turns out Kingry is none other than Ryan Garcia.

I mean, you look at that name.........it's the best of the old world and the new......Ryan like Ryan O'Neal, the name Ryan is World famous, known all over the World.

Garcia is famous in boxing circles and it's a well known Spanish name. Like Andy Garcia. Movie star stuff.

Who wouldn't want to be called "Ryan Garcia".......but this fool needs to be called "Kingry". SMFH.

Reminds me of when Peter O'Toole met Omar Sharif and said "No way man, NOBODY is called Omar Sharif......I shall call you.......FRED".

These kids have it made and they don't even know they are born.

Difference is that Ward, who tried to fight like Roy very early on, was smart enough to say, "I'm not Roy Jones. I'm Andre Ward. I've gotta develop my own style" And he did.

Haney is too far stuck in trying to be like Floyd, and he's not gonna be as successful at it. He lacks Floyd's athleticism, for one. Two, Floyd was perfecting the shoulder roll from the crib. Haney looks forced trying to duplicate it.

Haney would be helluva lot better off if he tried to do his OWN THING in the thing in the ring, instead of trying to impersonate Floyd.

Floyd's the OBVIOUS Comparison But Here's Why REED Went w/Ward in the Video...

    1. Floyd Could Actually PUNCH a Bit During His Formative and Early Championship Years...
    2. For Better or Worse, Floyd Created a Character (Money May) That MASKED the Fact His Power was All But Non-Existent @ '47 and '54...Soooo Even Though "UD 12" Was All But a Guarantee, Mainstream Fans STILL Tuned In...

Ward Could Never Punch & Had the Wholesome, Family Man, Christian Swag On Top of It...S00ooo Despite Being an Undefeated Olympic Gold Medalist, Ward NEVER Resonated the Way he Probably Should've...

We ALREADY See Haney Can't Punch a Lick & Toooo Many Other Fighters are ALREADY Biting Pieces of Floyd's Swag (Tank, Broner)...

Clearly, Haney's SHOOTING for Floyd Level Drawing Power, But he May Have to SETTLE for Andre Ward Status Instead, if He's Lucky...

Haney's already a bigger name in the Urban/Black community than Ward ever was. Remember, he dated Blac Chyna.

Will he ever be as big a star as Floyd? Fuck no.

But you already know what imma say next...

Only way for him to become a mainstream star is to get off that goddamn streaming platform that 0 casuals watch.

DAZN ain't MAKING a star outta any fighter.

The only three stars they had/have (Canelo, Golov, AJ) were stars before they came to DAZN.

As discussed above. Ward should never have been making that mistake in the first place.

I cannot think of two A level marquee fighters that have ever had identical styles.

First off, your style is something limited to you, in person.

Secondly, it is in turn again limited by the style/talent of your opponent.

Even Sugar Ray Leonard couldn't be Sugar Ray Robinson. He thought he could but decided that in his heart, the murder that guys like Duran put on him meant that he would change in due course.

Haney doesn't strike me as particularly high IQ fighter either. He's just in there operating off what he knows, and was taught.

Lopez is far more of a guy who actually looks at openings, and processes a fighter in the ring, independent of having to be told. Lopez's style also allows for more creativity and versatility.

Haney may in fact be one dimensional in his boxing style.

True, but REED Doesn't Have to Tell You the Urban/Black Community is VERY Fickle When it Comes to Boxing; a "What Have You Done for Me LATELY" Type of Crowd...

Dev Isn't Anywhere Near as ACCOMPLISHED as Ward Was...The "Super 6" Followed by the Fact Ward was the MAN In His Weight Range Enabled Him to Get BIGGER Fights, Despite His Style...

As We Discussed Saturday Night, WHY Would Tank, Teofimo or Ryan Garcia Go OUT of Their Way to Face Haney Next???...& As You Noted, He's Locked In to a Platform that's Going Nowhere FAST:Jest:...

Dev's BEST Bet is to Overpay Gary Russell to Fight Him Next and/or PRAY Luke Campbell Beats Ry...
