This fight is on Saturday. On regular ESPN! Does Kell have any chance? I think the Brook of 2013-2014 would have been a live dog against Bud, but I can't see it down. Crawford will drown him in deep waters. Bud TKO 9.
Injuries, beatings, ring worn, no recent competition worthy of the name. I see a withdrawal unless Kell lands something monstrous.
It has one of those "you've got 4 rounds Kell, minute he starts teeing off, we are pulling the plug" feelings to it. He's doing this for the £ and to say to Khan "I don't quit off a leg shot, I gave it a real go". Very pre-ordained feel to it this one.
Even this version of Brook is among the best opponents that Crawford has faced, which says something. That said, I like TC as a fighter and I expect him to win clearly
2021 has to be the year Bud does SOMETHING! He's 33, his prime isn't gonna last much longer. This coming year he has to fight/beat at least one of these 3: Spence, Pac, or Taylor.
Brook Will Be the BIGGEST, STRONGEST Fighter Crawford Will Have Faced Also... 1st Half of Spence-Brook was nap and Tuck and it Wouldn't Surprise REED @ All if Crawford-Brook is Fought Similarly, Even Though Brook's OLDER, More MILEAGE on the Odometer Than Back Then... Crawford Late Stoppage is the Safest Pick... REED
REED Would Be Cool w/Porter or Danny Also...Even if Danny LOSES to Spence, REED Thinks he'll Give a GOOD Account of Himself and Still Be a RELEVANT Name in the Mix... But Yeah, 2021 HAS to Be the Year...PBC Has NOT Been Blocking Their Fighters from Facing Crawford, That's an ESPN/Bob Arum FABLE... Taylor-Ramirez Winner is the ONLY Viable Top Rank Opponent, Otherwise, Crawford MUST Face a PBC Welter...No Excuses... REED
what about Lopez vs Crawford? if lopez beats taylor that is by far a bigger fight than any the welters for crawford
Personally, REED Would Like to See Teofimo GROW Into '40 Before Going to '47 Toooo Quickly...There's Good Fights to Occupy 2021 @ '40, Entertain '47 NO EARLIER than '2022... REED Views Teofimo as More of a NEXT Era (Boots Ennis, Vergil Ortiz) Welterweight... Are You Saying Teofimo's a BIGGER Welterweight Fight PERIOD for Crawford, or a Bigger TOP RANK Welterweight Fight???... REED
IF lopez beats taylor and is undisputed at 135 and 140, he is a bigger money opponent for crawford at welterweight than anyone else. followed by spence and pacquiao. and hes the only 1 of the 3 with top rank
Glad You Clarified Because REED Thought You were Saying if Teofimo Fought Crawford TODAY, That'd Be Bigger than Crawford vs. Any PBC Welterweight... Which Certainly AIN'T the Case... REED
crawford vs spence is a great fight for fans. i dont think its a big money maker necessarily right now. thats why it aint happened. crawford vs porter, garcia, thurman, ugas are not big fights to me.
If Spence Shows NO Ill Effects in the Danny Fight, Spence-Crawford is as BIG as ANY Current Fight That Can Be Made Aside from Wilder-Fury III, Fury-Joshua & Maybe 1 or 2 Involving Canelo or Pacquiao... REED Thinks the Accident is THE ONLY Reason Spence-Crawford Hasn't Happened Already...The Working Relationship btwn ESPN and PBC was Already Established in Wilder-Fury II... A Crawford-Porter PPV Would Do About 300k Buys, Roughly 3x's as Much as Crawford's Other 2 PPV's (Postol, Khan)... REED
say spence beats garcia down, how many ppv buys do you suspect a spence-crawford ppv would do? Id be surprised if he did more than 500-600k. which is a good number, but say one of them beat the shit out of pacquiao first, the fight would be much larger.
I thought the 'prime' version of Brook horribly overrated. I admit that I thought Porter would beat him handily. That was a good win, and I happily credit it for it. But I still think he was overrated. Apart from that win he has no other notable wins. He was the classic protected Brit for huge chunks of his career. He flat lost to Carson Jones in that first fight. And when he really stepped up against Spence, he got destroyed. I don't see what everyone else sees in Crawford. I think he's good, real good in fact, but I cannot understand what p4p number one fighter some people see. His comp is awful. But that's a discussion for another day. I'd pick him to beat the 'prime' Brook in a fairly comprehensive fashion but if he is as good as advertised he should hammer this version who is almost certainly fighting his last fight. Crawford TKO 9 MTF
Brook has a giant size advantage over Crawford. So that's his only chance. The problem is he's near shot.
I don't think Brook's size advantage will mean much, because Bud is kinda freakingly physically strong for his size. Stronger than Brook IMO. The power is what Bud has to be wary of, which is different from size. Brook can punch with his right hand. He's the biggest puncher Crawford has faced, that much is very true.
I dint get the shot argument. Kell looked as good as ever recently (which means hes a good solid fighter but not more)
He's probably not shot, however I doubt his timing is what it was 5-6 years ago. Let's just simplify it - Brook's only chance is a big right hand counter that flattens Bud. He can't outbox, outhink, or outwork Crawford.
It'll Be Interesting to See if Play Out... REED Doesn't Think Crawford's as STRONG as Spence & Brook Matched or Even (Slightly) Surpassed Spence's Strength "Early Doors" of Their Bout...Spence's Bodywork and PACE Sapped Any Bit of an Edge Brook May Have Had in that Regard, However... agREED On Brook Being the Best Puncher Crawford's Faced...& We All Know it Typically Takes Bud a Round or 3 to Get Going... REED
If Brook does win, it's the biggest upset of a Brit over an American at welterweight since Curry-Honeyghan.
Spence-Crawford Would Have the FULL Budgets of the FOX/ESPN Promotional Machines Behind Them... Wilder-Fury II Did 800k PPV Buys and if Reports are True, Another MILLION Homes Viewed it Illegally...Let's BE CONSERVATIVE and Say Wilder-Fury II Did 1.5mil Buys; REED Would Expect Spence-Crawford to Do HALF of That, 750k, Knowing FOX/ESPN Will Make Efforts to MINIMIZE Pirating... To Your Point, Beating Pac 1st Would ENHANCE Spence-Crawford, but REED Gets the Feeling Pac WANTS Them to Beat Each Other Up 1st, Before Looking to Fully Unify the Division...Ol' Man Ain't Stupid... REED
The state of the economy makes it tricky. If there was never COVID, I think Spence-Crawford could flirt with 1 mil buys without Pac. Probably 800k. A win by either of them over Pac would push it over 1 mil. Unrelated to Spence-Crawford, but the next Fox/PBC PPV that does big numbers will be Canelo-Charlo, which I think we'll see in maybe September 2021.
Not Sure if the Ball was Dropped on the ESPN or FOX Side, But They Estimated an ADDITIONAL 1Mil Illegal Streams BEYOND the Ones Normally Accounted For in Buy Rates... There was a GLITCH or Oversight of Some Sort SPECIFIC to Wilder-Fury II Being a Cross Promotion, Which Directly Contributed...Not a NORMAL Case of Illegal Streaming...These Streams Apparently Led to 10-20Mil Views Via Facebook and Twitter Something Both Sides are Confident WON'T Happen Again... Extraordinarily high theft of PPV signal leads to disappointing sales figure for Wilder-Fury rematch w/Safeguards in Place, REED Doesn't See Why a Spence-Crawford Cross Promotion Can't Do 750k Buys, Minimum...
