In terms of action, what were the worst championship matches you have watched? So something like: Tyson-Bonecrusher Ali-Young Leonard-Duran III
If all major titles are included, Byrd - Williamson must be the worst of them all. It made all Ruiz fights, Wlad vs Sultan and Briggs vs Sultan seem like barnburners. Akinwande vs Welsh for the WBO title was brutal. Out of the fights that should and could have been good, Forrest vs Mosley II might be the most boring one, barring the first 15 seconds
Too many to name at heavyweight. Chris Byrd and John Ruiz simultaneously holding world titles was a disgusting period. Below heavyweight there were a number of Hopkins fights that were duller than a butter knife.
Ugh. I thought i had erased that from my memory. The only saving grace is like Ruiz-Oquendo it didn't last the distance. Gainer was disgraceful.
I remember Chop Chop Corley vs Randall Bailey being a HORRIBLE fucking fight. Never watched it again, but I still remember how bad it was.
I'm going purely off the top of my head, but I seem to remember Chris Byrd vs Davaryl Williamson being especially horrible.
Marquez was named. Norwood (Snorewood) was named. But no one mentioned Norwood-Marquez. From memory, Marquez landed 89 punches (7.4/ round) & Norwood landed 73 punches (6.1/ round.) Norwood got the W for, I guess, making the other guy miss more.
Post-Exile Ali Had His Fair Share of DUDS REED Will NEVER Watch Again... Grew Up Watching Them, Re-Watched as an Adult, But No Mas!.. REED
I actually didn’t think the first two Ruiz-Holyfield fights were that terrible. The first one was decent. But the third one was just awful. Forrest-Mosley 2 was awful. I actually thought Gainer-Norwood was entertaining in a train wreck sort of way. The fight that was worse was the main event of that card, RJJ-Harding.
Yeah. Very weird performance from him. Seemed like a neophyte who froze when the other guy punch back. And he showed in precious fights that he had heart, so its even more puzzling
We might have watched the same broadcast? I remember Roy Jones being kind trying to come up with an explanation but couldn't.
Soto vs Hamed was pretty terrible, due regard to the relative quality of both men and the hype that was sunk into promoting the fight.
i guess it wasnt a title fight but jacobs-rosado throwed their hats in the ring. had to turn that basura off after round 4
