Alright, moving to the real fight of the month. It's time, baby!

Time to find out if Spence is still Spence following the accident.

I think everyone basically agrees here that Cherry Garcia's only shot is a ruined Spence.

I have a feeling that he's gonna be okay, and will kick Garcia's ass to a commanding UD win.

Garcia hasn't defeated a top opponent since 2013 against matthysse. Although I had him beating porter

    I had Porter winning clearly.

It was close and I hate porters style. Nonetheless garcia is solid but not a upper echelon fighter. Spence would have to be greatly diminished to lose to him. I look forward to it mostly because it should be action stylistically

Yeah, Spence would have to be pretty far gone.

Spence looks spectacular and STOPS Danny
I say mid rounds, I wouldn't be surprised if Danny lands a good looping shot that buzzes Spence, then spence steps it up and UNLOADS on him.. possibly HEAVY body shots resulting in Danny shitting himself in the ring!

Fight will be closer than expected, just as Spence/Porter was.

You do understand the concept of styles, right? Porter is an aggressive swarmer with quick feet, and better physical strength than Garcia.

Danny has more pop and skill than Porter, but he's slower and more methodical.

Garcia's style plays more into Spence's hands than Porter's does.

Danny's ONLY CHANCE is that the accident completely fucked Spence's punch resistance.

Cause the Spence we know has the chin to handle Garcia's overrated power.

Garcia is a solid puncher, but too many people act like he's fucking Pipino Cuevas or something. He's not THAT big a puncher, especially not at 147.

    LMAO!

He is not. Bud has to decline before Ortiz has a shot.

Crawford would wipe his ass with Vergil right now.

    Ennis would fuck Ortiz up.

How the Hell can Oscar say Vergil's ready for Bud when the best guy he's fought so far is Orozco?

I do like Ortiz, but damn. And Oscar's just talking out of his ass. He would NOT put Ortiz in with Crawford anytime soon.

Thurman? Now, that's a different story, because Ortiz would beat the current Thurman.

I think he would put ortiz in with Crawford. Ortiz may have to wait a few years to get a big fight

I think while Danny has a shot, he has a GREAT chin, I think Danny and Porter have two of the best chins in boxing
That's why this fight will be even more impressive when Earl SODOMIZES Danny. I think Danny might retire after this or try to drop down to 140 again

Don't Forget, DeLa LOST His Cash Cow, his MARQUEE Fighter...And He'll Probably Lose Ryan Garcia Also, After His Contract Expires...

That's Why DeLa's Talking Out of His Ass Like This...Bringing Attention to His Promotion/Fighter...

LESS Than a Year Ago, Vergil Ortiz HIMSELF Admitted He was "a Couple Years Away" from Being Ready for Spence...NOfuckingWAY He/They REALLY Believe He's Crawford-Ready Right Now...

Saying and DOING Are 2 Different Things...

You're telling me this? Mr. A beats B because he beat C who beat B? :D

I never said it would be the same fight. Or follow the same pattern. I just said it would be closer than some people seem to think, just as Spence/Porter was. And you can go back and explain why Spence/Porter was closer than expected, but the fact is, going in, your prediction was that Spence would easily win. And he did not. Anyway, it's my prediction. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

DLH is lying. He would not allow Ortiz to face Crawford next, or face Crawford anytime in 2021, I don't care what he says in the press. You know this.

With Canelo gone, Ortiz and Garcia are all GB has - and we allllll agree that Ortiz is better than Garcia. Oscar's not gonna his true potential star to get ruined before he even gets started.

Oscar might be a silly cokehead alcoholic, but he's not dumb enough to believe that Ortiz can be successful going from fighting C-level guys to hopping right in with the P4P #1.

disagreed. i think they take the fight. crawford is really good and he'd be a definite favorite over ortiz but he's not some wrecking ball thats gonna ruin the kid. ortiz is better than the guys crawford has been facing. i think team crawford is the one who wont have much interest in this matchup.

as for the jump in class, lopez just did it successfully. it aint like theres any b level fighters willing to take on ortiz right now.

another thing to consider from delahoyas perspective is, how long will he continue to be the guys promoter? ortiz could walk once his contract is up just like alvarez did.

Neither side would have interest. Bud's lack of desire is pretty fucking disappointing, it really is. But if he called Oscar's bluff and said, "I want Ortiz. Let's go." Oscar would not do it.

Crawford IS capable of giving Ortiz a beating that wrecks his confidence, and alters his prime. It'd be foolish for Ortiz to fight him next.

We don't even know if Vergil has a chin yet, he has yet to face anyone with notable pop. Hasn't faced anyone with quickness either.

Crawford's handspeed and power would be a big shock to Ortiz.

how would you go about getting ortiz the necessary experience then as his promoter? who can he fight that is available and willing?

On the PBC side, a guy like Lipinets would be an appropriate litmus test, and I've said for awhile.

Lipinets can punch, he's durable, and while he's not an elite technician, he's a better technician than anyone Vergil's faced. He's the type of step up that Ortiz needs.

Crawford next would not be Ortiz gaining experience, it would be Ortiz gaining an ass whupping.

ANWAY, back to the actual thread topic - the early rounds of Spence-Garcia will tell A LOT.

If Spence gets Danny on the end of his jab early on, and is countering Garcia's shots sharply while stepping around, then I think Danny is totally fucked.

If Spence comes out flat foot, and exchanges with Garcia, then Danny has a shot.

Ortiz would fuck lipinets up. i dont see that having much bearing on improving his chances against crawford.
