Garcia is financially secure. Depending on how he loses, if Spence really does give him a beating, I could see Danny retiring after this.

 

The undercard is really GARBAGE.

However, I wanna see Spence-Garcia badly enough that I'm gonna order, but DAMN wish they had done a better job with the undercard.

BTW - I think we're gonna be able to tell in the first 2 rounds whether Danny has a shot or not. If Spence is flat footed and doesn't have the jab popping, and Garcia is finding him with a few good shots, then Danny has a real chance.

If Spence is somehow unaffected by the accident and is as sharp early as he was against Mikey, then Danny's getting badly outclassed.

 

Like I said before, I think we will have a hellova idea after the first round, If Spence fights a tremendous first round (and believe me I've seen more first rounds than almost anyone) we will know. And thangs like that

Both look in superb shape, but Spence looks especially good. Looks in better shape than the Porter fight.

I would expect Danny to try harder than Mikey did. I think Danny has more heart than Mikey.

I always always said that Mikey Garcia had a bit of front runner in him. Danny has balls.

 

Considering what happened to the fighters King promoted, I'd still rather have the situation we have now

We need a promoter who finally understands that for the boxers to get rich, and the promoters to get rich, the fans have to care.

 

I like both guys here, I really would like to see Spence looking good, rededicated to his craft and just put a TOTAL BEATING on Danny!

I think it would be better that Danny retire after this and become one of those guys at the zoo that run one of the outdoor shows.They could do one on some weird ass exotic bird and have Danny dressed like the bird and Angels announcing there going "BIRD man!"

 

No built in excuses, but if Spence can't get past Garcia, yes, something is wrong.

We alllllllll know that the real Spence is a level above Danny Garcia, let's not kid ourselves.

Spence even said the EXACT same thing. "If I cant get past Danny Garcia, something is wrong."

I say this because alot of hype has gone on in the media for Danny going into this fight, but the truth is, Garcia aint all that good.

He's never been an elite at 147 the way he was at 140.

So yeah, Spence is ruined if he can't get past a Danny Garcia level guy.

 

We have to see the fight before making any determination. What if he looks absolutely excellent, is winning every round and walks into a fight ending bomb? That's not a very likely scenario but i'm not going to be buying "before the accident he wouldn't have walked into that shot" narratives.

 

Then something is still wrong, because Garcia's power is the most overrated thing about him.

 

I kind of understand your rationale but it does sound like Garcia can't win (and Spence can't lose) no matter what.

In Lomachenko's case no explanation for his loss (lightweight being a wrong division, injury, Teofimo being better than expected) was acceptable but merely an excuse.

Personally I agree with whiskey here. If Spence looks alright yet Garcia wins, we can accept that we underrated Garcia again, just like against Matthysse.

Spence isn't the first fighter in history to suffer a major car accident and come back. He should be otherwise physically the same, it's his skin I'm concerned about.

However, his skin shouldn't be an issue here, cause Danny isn't some sharp shooter.
