Now that we're in a good enough position to attract new members, I'm trying to recruit a few guys from Eastside to come over. The guys I've reached out to are excellent, and would make good additions to the General Discussion.

No, I reached out to 5 posters, and Dubble wasn't one of them. ALTHOUGH, maybe it isn't a terrible idea. Dubble has some controversial opinions, but can be insightful at times.

Let's see how this round of recruitment goes, and if anyone bites, then maybe let's get Dubblechin back here lol

I'm pretty sure this is outside of X's mod control but the Political forum should not be public. No, I'm not saying it should be removed, just be unviewable by non-members. If potential members poke around and read that cesspool i can imagine their disinterest in joining even if they only care to talk about boxing or MMA.

Yeah, if REED Were to Compile a List of "Fightbeat Amenities", the Political Forum Certainly WOULDN'T Be 1 Of Them...

I think it was just an oversight. The "TAA" section on most boxing web sites is private just as it remains here today.

I'm unsure about how the forum software works but i'd guess the default option when a new sub is created is to make it public and it wasn't turned off.

    Whiskey,

    1. I agree with you 100%.

    2. You're right, that's beyond my control.

Lemme shoot Anthony a PM tonight requesting that change.

To Your Knowledge, Are the "Views" Generated by Each Topic "UNIQUE" Views or "REPEAT" Views???...

For Example, the Last Time REED Checked, the Spence-Danny Thread Had 2,037 Views...Does that Mean 2,037 DIFFERENT Posters Entered the Thread Or Does it Tabulate EVERY Time Us Regular Members Entered That Thread???...

If it's UNIQUE Views, That's a Good Sign for the GROWTH Potential of the General Forum and Even MORE Justification to Make the Political Forum PRIVATE...

Not a clue. I don't think mods would have access to that info. The owner(s) could certainly answer those questions but fightbeat is not even a side gig on the side of a side gig to Punk at this point. He remains the best owner in the history of this site.

Not even when you linked fightbeat to your blog post "Top 7 Belgian-Indonesian Fusion Restaurants in the the Southwest"?

I don't know about the raw numbers but surely that got some traffic here?

Seems HIGHLY Unlikely on the Surface, But Think About FIGHT NIGHT Traffic:Dont:???

Put it This Way, REED Just Looked and Verified There's 78 "Users" on Fightbeat CURRENTLY, as He Types....11 Members, 47 Guests and 20 Robots, to Be EXACT...

So the Idea of 2k "Users" Viewing a Spence-Danny or Tyson-Roy Thread on FIGHT NIGHT Doesn't Seem That Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar Fetched...

Or Maybe REED is Being Optimistic to a Fucking FAULT???...

I don't know enough about how the software works to compile and displays stats. This place is clearly not actively trying to promote itself. For better or worse the amount of users here is "honest".

As an example do you remember maxboxing's forum? No matter when you logged in it would show a whole pile of "active" members. (with multiple different colors too!) A dozen moderators and hundreds of posters. View the actual threads and it's 2-3 people talking. May as well have been an e-mail exchange between me and you. That aspect could be controlled within the software. You closed your browser three days ago? That timeout period hasn't expired so you're still online viewing according to the site's interface.

But REED's Done That COUNTLESS Times and Never Noticed an Increase in Views, Unless it's NOT Immediate or Something:Dont:???

Not a BIG Deal or Anything, Just Something REED's Always Been Curious About...

Most Sites/Channels That Even CARE Enough to Tabulate Views Count "Unique" Ones Exclusively...

Between His Phone and Laptop it's RARE for REED to Ever Be COMPLETELY OFF Fightbeat Altogether...There's Usually a Fightbeat Window/Page or Something Open...

And He Never Logs Off Either, So No Matter WHAT Device He's Using @ the Time, REED's Fightbeat Account Immediately Pops Up...No Log-In Necessary...

How MIGHT That Impact "Views", etc.???

Damn, and I thought WE were dying before.

Curiosity just compelled me to check BoxingFanatics - we are as active and bustling as Facebook compared to BF.

That place might as well shutdown already.

I appreciate that. It's not an easy bar to meet. I realize tomorrow some kid north of me from Whaletusk could usurp the #1 spot. I aint gonna let that slip away easily though.

Rebel Couldn't Get Out of His OWNfuckingWAY:Jest:...

He Wasn't a "Bad" Guy, But CLEARLY a Control Freak...& He Micro-Managed the Living Shit Out of BoxingFanatics...He Preferred a Site of Like Minded Robots PARROTING the Same Themes, than Genuine Off the Cuff DIALOGUE or DISCUSSION...

And Once You Got On His BAD Side, Rebel Would BAIT You in a Way That Justified Him BANNING You...

REED and Rebel were NEVER Going to Get Along, But Once Rebel Ran Neil Off, Who's as Perpetually UNAFFECTED as Any Poster, That Was a CLEAR Sign BoxingFanatics was Going to Shit...

I'm the wrong guy to ask, but i don't think it has anything to do with views in terms of statistics. What I was talking about is on some forums there can be (or was) a list of posters on the forum and/or each sub forum.

For example you go to websiteforumDOTcom and see the list of "active" users.

    enings harvater multippic finareve bernwang
    haefulneying leximility oundcuous brimpulay
    approstidiff

    tachin
    confidly sativers argullizintes toxicoaxion
    jostries nameade clicitfirmiten krauthers brally

That's what maxboxing used to look like when there was not a post in days. They would just set the "timeout" period or whatever to the max.

Yes, this was the early 00s, so Rebz essentially wanted every member to be an Oscar groupie and Roy hater.
