Great Fighters who Lacked High Ring IQ

One thing I always remember from that broadcast for some reason is Sky did an in-between rounds interview with Brodie's manager (can't remember his name for the life of me) late on in the fight. He was obviously caught up in the moment as he said "this kid's a good fighter but Mikey's beating the fucking shit out of him", I've never seen a camera cut so fast, followed by a deluge of apologies from the commentary team

Mayorga went like a crazy mf and koed him. Forrest changed his strategy in the second fight. Did he deserved to win, that's debatable, but je showed some adaptability imo

 

Against Mayorga he certainly lackes IQ. But I agree in general he was a fairly sharp fighter.

 

Vernon Forrest wasn't no great.

 

His career was fkkd up by a shoulder injury that never fully healed properly.

 

He did make a bad decision, which cost him his life.

Doesn't mean he deserved to get executed like he did (shot in the back) but it shouldn't have to come to that for him.

 

Arguello, Forrest, and Gatti all in a short time span in 2009 by murder or suicide. Sad stuff.
