Ok....but he'd be Hopkins best middleweight win by quite allot.

I'd watch it twice to pick up the slack, then.:partie:

  6. Matter of opinion.

He's more skillful than Tito, defensively, but Tito was an offensive talent like few in history and was undefeated at the time..and far more poweful than Kalambay. His beatings of Vargas followed by Joppy proved that he was formidable, even at Middelweight.

Purely stylistically, a guy like Tito was made for Hops, Kalambay is a guy who would often make Hopkins lead & come forward which has generally caused him more challenges. Moreover it's got to be said that William Joppy is a nobody & a nothing compared to the names on Kalambay's record - I don't personally think there's room for opinion on who's the more accomplished and better middleweight between Kalambay & Tito.

Hopkins would have an exceptionally difficult time with Kalambay, style-wise

though I do think Kalambay gets way overrated around here for beating McCallum

Man, this would be an ugly, ugly, ugly fight

  10. Agreed.

Kalambay I think but with no confidence. Graham, McCallum, Collins and DeWitt are better wins than practically any Hopkins has at 160 but I try not to hold Hops mediocre comp at 160 against him too much: the division was just shite when he dominated there.

This would be an awful clash of styles, though, and awful to watch.

    Matter of opinion my ass!

Kalambay would have outboxed, and beat Tito's ass.

Seems like you dont know alot about Kalambay.

Ha! Since when does that stop him from having an agenda based opinion???

Hopkins would butt Kalambay to win a muddy decision, 8-7, or 7-5

I think Hop would find a way to make this an ugly, mauling affair that smothers Kalambay's boxing skill.

Exactly this. Picking Kalambay is crazy imo

There's nothing crazy about picking Kalambay, but I would favor peak Hopkins here (Glen Johnson version).

Its crazy. Kalambay is a good.fighter, but bhop was simply at another level. It would be like picking Jacob over Hagler.

Not to.mention that his style is taylor made for a bhop clinch and punch special

What an absurd comparison. Utterly ridiculous. Kalambay was several levels better than cancer boy.

The gap between Hagler-Jacobs is much much much wider than the gap between Hopkins-Sumbu.

Kalambay was more than "good." He was one of the best pure boxers in middleweight history, and B-Hop has struggled with less.

Once again, peak Hopkins wins, but its by no means easy.

There is zero path for Jacobs beating Hagler. There is a path for Kalambay beating Hopkins, I just don't think he would.

Prime Bernard was more creative and versatile than McCallum.

Thats pure absurdity. Jacob arguably beat or drew with GGG and Canelo. He wasnt that much behind Kalambay

And i never said it would be an easy win for bhop. It would be ugly and rather close, but bhop wins pretty much 10 out of 10.

Hopkins is not a guu that will tamely stay at the end of the jab. Hell rough his way inside, clinch and work the body. I just dont see Kalambay dealing well with these tactics

LMAO! Hold up, what? Not the GGG part, he arguably drew with Golov (i had him losing 7-5) but Canelo???? Lol. Canelo won by a clear margin. Jacobs came to survive. You pulled that one out your ass.

Kalambay has wins over McCallum, Barkley, Graham, and Collins. Those four names shit on Jacobs' resume of wins. He also destroyed Doug DeWitt, and Jacobs probably struggles with Dewitt.

    Kalambay belongs in the Hall.

Jacobs, even under watered down standards, does not.

I consider Danny Jacobs inferior to Jermain Taylor, let alone Kalambay.

Youre so clueless sometimes its funny. Go look at the unofficial scorecards of these fights. More than a few people had them a draw or a Jacobs win

You're the only one on this thread who believes this is some gimme for Hopkins, yet I'm clueless?

Hut Hut, a staple of the forum, went BEYOND me and called it a pick em. Is he clueless also?

I forgot more boxing overnight than you'll ever know.

You have no fucking clue about the the sport outside of maybe like 25 fighters, yet I'm clueless? LOL, ok JOM.

That's why I recruited guys like George, Tin, RD, Jel, ect to come over. So I would have others to discuss fighters throughout history with, cause know-nothings like you have made the forum boring.

Yeah whatever clown. Youve shown numerous times that you know absolutely nothing about the technical and physical aspects of boxing (as shown by your laughable predictions record). You watched a few yt fights and parrot what some "historians" wrote in the comments, but that's the extent of your knowledge

No one this forum takes you seriously, JOM.

What's sad is that even a guy like BOSS, when he's not intentionally being a troll, has shown the ability to contribute more to the forum than you.

I agree Jacobs can't shine Kalambay's shoes, but I did have him drawing with Canelo. I thought that one was closer than GGG.

    I had Canelo winning 8-4ish, I believe.

It was a terrible fight, and I'll never watch it again.
