Man, I feel like the geezer here. My Dad was a major fight fan and would stretch out on the couch watching the Gillette fights in the '60s (Mon-Wed-Fri). I would stretch out with him but would zonk out. The first fight that I can recall watching right through with him and then discussing it was Joe Frazier v George Chuvalo. A few years later my town bought into the 'Boxing from the Forum' and 'Boxing from the Olympic' telecasts and twice a week I was immersed in boxing and OD'ing on Danny Lopez, Tury Pineda, Art Hafey, Bobby Chacon, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Jimmy Heair, Ruben Olivares and my favorite - Armando Muniz. Good times and great times with my Dad.

Interestingly enough, winky Wright said he would've favored vargas if the two fought

Maybe because he deserved the win over Vargas, while Simon kicked his ass by a commanding margin.

One of the Spinks-Holmes fights, but I was too young to understand what was going on. I just remember my uncle mentioning those names to my grandfather.

First fight I remember watching live and understanding it was Tyson knocking out Spinks in less time than it took Jeffrey Osborne to sing the national anthem.

Around 91-92, my dad took me to see a few local shows in the Bay Area, he worked with the CSAC at the time and I watched the fights ringside. Really different to see them up close getting the crap kicked out of them.

That’s why I usually take those answers with a grain of salt. Like Holyfield saying that Lennox had no shot in 02’ of beating Tyson, or Toney saying that the best guy he fought was McCallum and not Roy. Their ego and pride always get in the way.
