Who wins this war of Khaokar's best wins, at 118lbs? Both men peaked at differing weights, but both were highly entertaining and I think that this would be one of the best bantamweight fights of all-time. The styles could only gel into a great, great slugfest.

Close fight at 118 - not really sure. Itd be a war though.

I've been thinking about this one all day, and all I've accomplished is getting pissed off that it didn't happen. My train of thought when going down this path, is it all depends on one thing: Can Vazquez deter Moon?

If he can - which I doubt - then he should pound his way to a decision, as his power would lower Moon's workrate and work towards partly shutting him down. What I think happens though, is that he can't and Moon's workrate, and to my eye, quicker hands, is the difference. He gets off a bit faster, and more often. Although not without eating heavy, heavy leather in absolute abundance.

Just imagine how good this fight would be. Moon was in a great tear ups with: Nana Konadu, Kobayashi, Torsak, Singkrungthon, Salazar, etc; and I plan on watching them today: Richardson and Bueno. Can't imagine those are boring. His amateur career has some of the most ferocious and brutal wars I've ever seen with Robert Shannon and Heo Yong-mo.

I've seen less of Vazquez, but his fights with Avelar, Lora, Khaokar and Canizales are all very fun, the first being one of the absolute greatest fights of all time IMO. I haven't seen the fights with Jacob, but I can imagine how fun they are, as well as the fights with Park and Muguruma.

Definitely gonna watch some more from these guys now.

Yeah, you are not wrong about Vasquez-Avelar.

One of the best slugfests I've ever seen.

Giving it more thought, I'd side with Moon at 118.

Wilfredo really didn't hit his stride until 122.

I've just watched Vazquez vs Muguruma, and I'm now positive Moon wins at 118.

Sure, Moon likely wasn't as strong as the naturally bigger Jap, but he was certainly much better and much more relentless. Muguruma gave Vazquez no quarter, and bulled him to the ropes while outworking him in most rounds. I'm sure if that's Moon in there, it's done much more comprehensively.

Although I'm also now as sure as ever that it's one of the best fights that never happened. Vazquez vs Muguruma was an absolute WAR.

100% agreed, his best performance was the Jibaro rematch IMO.

Vasquez v Muguruma, thanks for reminding me!

I had meant to watch that one last week. I'll watch it today.
